About this deal

Nuud says one application is effective for between three and seven days. The active ingredients include antibacterial microsilver, which neutralises bacteria. NATURAL DEODORANT - Certified COSMOS Natural. Formulated without synthetic additives, the Salt of the Earth Unscented Natural Deodorant Spray is 100% natural, gentle on your skin and made from a mix of natural mineral salts, essential oils and aloe vera. Salt of the Earth says a 1-litre spray refill uses 70% less plastic than buying 10 individual 100ml sprays. For centuries, natural mineral salts have been used to prevent body odour. One of these natural salts, potassium alum, is the main active ingredient in Salt of the Earth’s Unscented Natural Deodorant Spray. Potassium alum creates an invisible antibacterial layer on the skin’s surface that helps to control the growth of bacteria, preventing body odour. The result is effective, long-lasting protection that allows your skin to breathe. However, these particular salts only have a deodorising effect, and sit on the skin, whereas aluminium chlorohydrate and aluminium zirconium are antiperspirant ingredients that plug pores to prevent sweating.

Though the Crystal deodorant stone is famously free of aluminum chloride and aluminum chlorohydrate—synthetic chemicals that have been linked to breast cancer—its key ingredient does contain naturally-occurring aluminum that could potentially penetrate the skin when mixed with water. (Same goes for theother stone deodorant brands.) No studies have directly proventhe element in its organic state to be harmful, but it’s still caused some controversy among natural-beauty devotees. What they do contain is Potassium Alum, which Salt of the Earth explains is from the aluminium salt family. Does Salt of the Earth deodorant work? We've rounded up the key players, costs, eco and ethical claims, and some insights from users to help you decide. It does this with a combination of natural plant and mineral powders to deodorise and absorb perspiration, including magnesium oxide and diatomaceous earth (a fossilised algae). It also contains sodium bicarbonate. If you like the active ingredient but prefer a different formulation, Salt of the Earth also has a spray, which also comes with the added benefit of being refillable. One user told us: 'The refills will last me about a year.'

How do you use Salt of the Earth Classic Crystal Deodorant?

Salt of the Earth's range has evolved into sprays, roll-ons, balms and more since it first launched the Classic Crystal – so it's no surprise that our first impressions were that this is a super no-frills product.

Step in: Salt of the Earth. Established in the nineties, the brand's focus on 'environmentally friendly, natural skincare products that are as effective as they are ethical' has won over legions of fans – and plenty of awards in the process. There may be some odour at first (full disclosure: you may smell 'funkier' than usual) but after a few weeks, your body settles down and you'll be able to feel the benefits of your new deodorant. There are currently three unisex scents available, and the subscription option is easy to change online. Wearing deodorant and antiperspirant may inhibit the release of toxins from your body. Preventing your body from sweating naturally is thought to lead to clogged pores and a buildup of toxins.

Other Uses:

Dr Olioso says: 'I suspect this is more a case of people becoming more aware of and getting used to their own smell and how much they sweat - things they may have become dissociated from because of many years of using conventional products.'

There are also fears that aluminium found in everyday items such as aluminium cans, antacids and antiperspirants could cause Alzheimer's. But the Alzheimer's Society says: 'No convincing relationship between amount of exposure or aluminium in the body and the development of Alzheimer's disease has been established.'Himalayan salt is said to contain the same 84 trace minerals and elements that are essential to the human body, such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, copper and iron. This salt is recognised for its beautiful pink colour, high mineral content, and its therapeutic properties. Himalayan salt is a pure, hand-mined salt that is derived from ancient sea salt deposits in the foothills of Himalaya found from the Punjab region of Pakistan. Protected from pollution and impurities since their formation 200 million years ago, pink Himalayan salt is believed to be the purest form of salt available. The high mineral crystals range in colour from sheer white, varying shades of pink, to deep reds leading to the result of high mineral and iron content.
