Melt the wax completely in the pot. You can heat the wax directly on the flame or on a vitroceramic hob, or else use a bain-marie (take care not to let the wax get wet since this would make it unusable). It is not suitable for induction plates or microwaves. While the wax is heating, put the wooden spatula into the pot and stir the wax gently from the bottom to the top, making sure that the wax doesn’t spill from the pot, until it melts and acquires a treacly appearance. The ideal consistency for the wax should be similar to that of honey. The wax should be partly liquid with some solid, compact lumps. The combination of both textures makes the wax perfect for hair removal. If the wax has been overheated, it will be too liquid and you will need to allow it to cool before you can use it.
