About this deal

Random access performance is merely good rather than exceptional, but the Firecuda’s low operating temps are impressive. The same goes for the epic 2,550TB write endurance rating. All told, this is a truly excellent drive that would be an excellent addition to any PC. It’s also fully compatible with the Sony PS5, (but not the Xbox Series X). Speed Reigns. FireCuda 530 dominates the SSD lineup — delivering pure performance, absolute power, the most advanced components and unrivalled endurance. Though I did run into 1 problem with Fallout 4 on steam and on pc game pass while using the Firecuda 530, Door load times were extremely long over a minute sometimes even 4 minutes, I had to install Fallout 4 on my sata ssd and yes that fixed the problem, In 64K writes, the FireCuda 530 placed 2nd place again, sporting a peak score of 32,162 IOPS or 2.01GB/s at a latency of 170µs.

CrystalDiskInfo can give us some basic information about the SSD, and confirms we are operating at PCIe 4.0 x4 speeds using NVMe 1.4. Test System Configuration Seagate has stated that there are multiple reasons for this, but essentially it is challenging to achieve the right balance between speed, write endurance, and reliability. Faster I/O speeds put extra pressure on the controller and flash, which can lead to higher heat generation and additional thermal cycling stress. The flash on the FireCuda 540 utilizes an on-die thermal sensor with a maximum temperature of 90C for optimal stability, which helps emphasize that these drives are designed to be cooled in entirety. The rear of the heatsink has product labeling, and the rear of the drive holds no electrical components. Seagate FireCuda 530 Specs The FireCuda uses the Phison E26 SSD controller, an enterprise-derived design that we’ve tested many times before. Seagate uses custom firmware on this drive which includes protection against counterfeiting. If you buy a FireCuda 540 like this one, you can be assured of genuine hardware. Counterfeiting has become a significant problem in the SSD market, for example, through the use of recycled flash. One requirement for drives to achieve and maintain the high speeds required by the E26 is that the flash is of a quality grade, something Seagate takes seriously.I am completely blown away with how low the temps are while the performance is excellent. The performance is not quite as good as the SN850X, but this is comparing a drag racer with a formula 1 car; they are both so much faster than anyone realistically will ever need, so the speed differences don't really matter at all in real life. Far more important is the fact that the Seagate runs about 20° cooler than the WD... Yes, it's seriously that much. Today we are taking a look at the Seagate FireCuda 530 1TB NVMe SSD. Previously we reviewed the FireCuda 520, which is the immediate predecessor to this drive and was part of the initial wave of PCIe 4.0 SSDs. The FireCuda 530 represents Seagate’s premium entry into the second generation of PCIe 4.0 drives, featuring the Phison PS5018-E18 controller and TLC NAND. Drives based on the PS5018-E18 have performed very well in our previous testing, so expectations are high for this drive! Seagate FireCuda 530 1TB NVMe SSD

The 4tb Firecuda 530 with heatsink PCIE4.0 M.2 drive, It has Read speeds of 7300 mbs and write speeds of 6900 mbs, Seagate recommend to me to wait until the middle of 2022 to buy another one until they fix all the problems of faulty E18 controllers that cause random formatting on the Playstation 5,Finally, one would need to read from a much faster drive into ddr memory (ok, so maybe not, because you can copy directly from one storage medium to another, i. e. a raid volume for example) before writing to a secondary drive such as these ssd's, that would be realworld throughput. Just moving the same bits over and over from memory, i guess would work, and that is what i am assuming is meant by a synthetic benchmark. However writing past 100% of a physical drive's size is not meaningful to me for any real filesystem where the write volume is not normally overwritten ever as far as i know. application workloads. This is different than full entropy tests which use 100% of the drive and take them into a steady state. As a result, these figures will reflect higher-sustained write speeds.

The Seagate FireCuda 530 is currently the fastest NVMe SSD on the market. It not only bested the best of the rest in our real-world and synthetic benchmarks, it did so by a healthy marginin several tests. If you can afford it and you can find it, you won’t regret it. The FireCuda 530 is fresh and new and affords us the perfect opportunity to debut our new SSD testing regimen utilizing a fresh and new Windows 11 Pro OS. Windows 10 is old news and pretty much garbage compared with Windows 11, even in beta form. We find Windows 11 to be superior in every way, including storage performance. Windows 11 is serving up superior storage performance where it matters most, so we feel compelled to make the switch right now. Writing more then 100% to an ssd makes no sense whatsoever. Someone please explain. You can somewhat see this in both the 2gb and 4gb seagate 530 ssd's at roughly 450 and 900 seconds into each test. Looking at SQL Server average latency, the Seagate FireCuda 530 had an average latency of 2ms, which places it at an impressive tie for 2nd. Only beaten by the Samsung 970 EVO Plus. PCIE5.0 drives are slowly arriving for sale but if you need the extra speeds for a professional workflow PCIE5.0 is probably better for you at not so much as a price hike as you would expect, Do you really need to spend more money on a PCIE4.0 m.2 ssd compared to a decent 4tb sata ssd that will only be at Worst 3 seconds worse for load times?,
