Players are free to move anywhere around the room, usually trying to stay hidden, but also trying to make a move to grab and throwa ball when they can. It’s largely a game of strategy. There are no teams, but sometimes players form alliances. Anyone is free to grab a dodgeball when one’s available.

By mid-February Mr. Fu, who lived in East Harlem, had summoned the courage to ask Ms. Hamilton, who lived in Hell’s Kitchen, if she’d like to go out with him sometime. She said yes. There, “the conversation was a little more formal,” Mr. Fu said, meaning they kept dodgeball talk to a minimum in favor of deeper subjects. This is a great game for an open gym night with your teens. It goes with any light based theme, such as GLOW (God Lights Our Way) or “let your light shine” (discipleship). Also a fun Easter activity due to the “resurrection line.” 🙂 That fall, Mr. Fu was starting to feel the same way about his post-dodgeball conversations with Ms. Hamilton at O’Flanagan’s, which has since closed. Plastic balls: You’ll have to estimate how many balls you’ll need based on the amount of players. These types of plastic balls can be found at the dollar store. Our Glowsports events last one hour as standard with groups of over 18 enjoying 90 minutes as standard.

Teams will be given a warning the first time a ball strikes an opponent above the shoulders. A second strike above the shoulders will result in the throwing player being considered out (unless ruled intentional by a referee as stated above). Violation of any rule by players and/or spectators not on the court will result in a teammate on the court being ruled out. LIVE: A ball that has been thrown and has not touched anything, including the floor/ground, another ball, another player, official or other item outside of the playing field (wall, ceiling, etc). Timing & Winning Each player receives glow in the dark head bands, wristbands and bibs to make an awesome glow party!
