About this deal

As for the salty flower: it's not that salty, so don't veer off because of it. Maybe this is the artificial note in it that might bother some customers, but do give it a sniff, it's not that terrible. In-house perfumer Francois Demachy adds an unexpected and unusual touch of salt to the warm floral composition, inspired by the natural phenomenon and finest gourmet salt "Fleur de Sel". This salty accord in the top of the composition emphasizes the combination of white flowers that includes sambac jasmine, neroli, tuberose and ylang-ylang from Grasse. An accord of ripe peaches in the perfume’s base gives the whole composition a fruity touch. Fruity nuances in the opening, dominated by pear and melon. A cool floral heart with a light white floral creaminess ending on a woody and vanillic base. Simple. Uncomplicated.

J’adore EDP is a sweet, crowd-pleasing scent that’s hard to go wrong with. It feels youthful and energetic but with an edge of sophistication. The softness of the florals and fruit makes it more of a spring and summer fragrance. It’s a clean day-time fragrance for work or the weekends. I don't think OG J'Adore smells like cigarettes exactly, but it does have a bit of that vibe on my skin, like the EDT (woodiness?). Again, my skin chemistry and nose preference is biased, as I am very much into strongly vanilla-based scents. I would estimate 99% of my collection has a strong vanilla base. For reference, I adore Miss Dior 2021 when I am in the mood and disagree it smells "mature" or like baby powder. Miss Dior 2021 to me is a youthful fruity vanilla with a wonderful, noble iris/peony/rose/lily-of-the-valley bouquet. I do however love the J'Adore L'Or (newer version- 2017?) for how it has the sparkling, clean, flowery, luxurious feeling conveyed by J'Adore ads, with a special ambery vanillic drydown. J'Adore L'Or to me is a wearable, more elegant, and ageless White Diamonds by Elizabeth Taylor type of scent. Dior Жадор Infinissime. Сандаловото дърво в основата пресъздава емблематичния аромат в напълно нова версия. Това му придава гъвкавост, което го прави перфектна композиция за всеки повод. However, there is an unpleasant metallic quality in the drydown; it is probably for the best that it (the EDT anyway) is so subtle and light. Longevity is weak and sillage is mild; it becomes a soapy skin scent in under two hours on me. Fine, considering it is an EDT.This is office friendly and I could see that this would be a perfume that would be great during spring/summer -- or a lighter fragrance to wear during the whole year - if this is really your thing -- and something that you resonate with. Or - add something a bit more grounding for a lower alto type chord - pistachio or almond; dare I say vetiver? One of the pillars of the current perfume line from Dior, J`Adore, gets a new edition in the spring of 2017 called J`Adore In Joy. The fragrance is announced as the scent of joy, love for life, instant fun and the exclamation of spring. It is said to be a daring fruity- floral with a salty taste. Due to the popularity of J’adore perfume, the Dior perfumers launched J’adore L’absolu Perfume by Christian Diorin 2007, which, like the original, is complicated and sexy while being subtle enough to be sophisticated. This perfume starts with the dancing sparkling notes which is what I dearly LOVE about this perfume, that only lasts a few minutes before you are submerged in the salty type oceanic/marine chord. Make sure that you are someone who does well with the saltier notes. If so, this could be really fabulous on you. Unfortunately, this is not really working that well with my chemistry or asthma reactions. It will have to be returned, unfortunately - because I really love the first part of this perfume.

And just like every hit before it, J’Adore became a victim of its own success spanning clones, cheap imitations, and eventually even cheaper reformulations that have only made it a bad caricature of itself smelling cheap, trashy, plastic. I smell peaches and heady white florals immediately, then you get the pear that sweetens it, the orange and bergamot brighten it up and bring the bubbles, cutting through that peachy and Peary sweetness. Plum is floral but sensual and keeps the scent up, but the musk and vanilla allow that all to settle down against your skin that makes it seem like you just washed with an expensive white soap under it all. Surprisingly lovely. I received several samples of designer fragrances. It turns out, the ones I didn't think I'd be interested in were my favorites. It has a certain allure about it, it is appealing -- (although not blatantly or overtly sensual or sexual). It has notes that have a little bit of that "tinker bell" type quality... a sparkling champagne effervescent chemical play that happens as the notes dance on the skin, giving this a very bright playful type vibe -- but with the peach notes grounding this, this warms the scent up at bit. There is a subtle peach tea type note with this which is unique because there are not many other fragrances that have this peach tea note. This later calms down more into a softer finish throughout the dry down.I have both the Edt and the Edp and the dry downs are pretty much the same after 4-5 hours. The difference is the openings. Edp is more flowery and buttery whereas the Edt is more lemon-fresh. I like the EDP more because there is something in the EDT that gets a rubber smell on my skin 10 min in and is off 30 minutes.

J'Adore In Joy has the ozonic aldehyde effect similar to the first sprays of perfumes like Calvin Klein's Escape; Estee Lauder's White Linen; Elizabeth Taylor's White Diamonds, ET's Diamonds and Emeralds, and ET's Diamonds and Sapphires; and Un Jardin En Mediterranee by Hermès (it has the same chemical ozonic aldehyde effect as these perfumes but does not smell like these). When this is sprayed, it is as if the chemical chord of this expands and interacts with the air where this creates an atmosphere around you. This settles down after awhile, but the initial spray has a strong type of ozonic aldehyde effect. First and foremost do not judge this fragrance upon its initial blast, you really must wait for the dry down and let it all unfold to capture its true potential. I was let down at first because all it was was a very clean soapy floral, but within a half an hour it began drying down into something much more familiar. In its current formulation, this J’adore smells like an iteration left on the editing room floor while the creators were working on Dior’s Pure Poison, though its likely the other way around as J’adore was released 5 years before. Its a much fresher soapy-er take on my beloved Pure Poison, perhaps a foreshadowing precursor to the iconic Poison flanker. That said, I understand J'Adore's popularity. It actually reminds me of a fragrant sparkling wine (which I like), which is refreshing and soft, but at the same time has just enough "fizz" to keep things interesting. This is an excellent buy if you want to add a staple to your fruity floral collection as I don't think this scent will ever go out of style. The aldehyde/ozonic effect is also something that takes awhile to subside. This is aggravating my asthma a bit.

It's horrible what happened with this perfume. I really am not one of those people who complain about every reformulation on the market, I actually think that there are perfumes that have gone gracefully through reformulations (Pure Poison, Poison, Obsession). This is not one of them. I really like the idea of warm, peachy notes, florals and then a touch of salt as a wee surprise - perhaps like a slightly more exciting version of Boss' The Scent! Though I had expected the peach to have more honeyed tones.

Guys, just wake up! I love Dior more and more everyday but mostly due to his perfumes. We may have seen thousands of editions coming and go but this one is a must. I've never thought I could smell salt. This was promised by Olympea-Paco Rabanne, WANT-DSQ2, but J'adore in joy strikes 100% of the feeling.J’adore is a bit ubiquitous at this point while it was very ground-breaking at its release, there have been numerous similar fragrances in the intervening years. If you’re looking for a truly unique fragrance, it might feel a bit generic. Pros: Like countless times before, I don’t really notice a perfume when it’s new, sometimes because I don’t really ‘feel’ it and sometimes because it just feels pointless.
