The Sony XP700 is a large party speaker with customizable RGB lights. It's compatible with the Sony Music Center and the Fiestable apps, which lets you access extra party features and effects. That said, it doesn't produce an as extended low-bass as the JBL PartyBox 310 and doesn't get quite as loud. Built to resemble a PA speaker or bass amplifier, the Soundboks 3 is no joke of a Bluetooth speaker, and weighing just over 30 pounds, you’ll need a friend to help you carry this one! Pumping sound in one direction through 2 x 10-inch woofers and a 1-inch tweeter, the Soundboks 3 can get incredibly loud and sounds great even when the volume levels are maxed. If you’re having a larger party, up to 5 Soundboks speakers can be paired together, forming an extensive speaker network that’ll surely rattle some windows.
The Sony SRS-XP700 offers everything that we look for in a party speaker. The audio quality is excellent, as is the volume the XP700 can be cranked up to. The lighting effects are a nice addition and something that really makes it shine (no pun intended) as a party speaker. Do note that while the XP700 is portable, it’s a heavy and fairly large speaker that could arguably also fit in our large & loud selections. Best Bass Party Speaker The battery of the Aiwa Exos-9 is, in my opinion, where it falls short. Lasting up to 9 hours, it can certainly power a night-long house party, but pushing the volume limits will prove to shorten this battery’s lifespan, which is already incredibly low. To add to this, the battery has to be removed to be charged, so the speaker can’t be used while it refuels, unfortunately. Microphone inputs are also very common - giving you the freedom to speak or sing through the speakers. This is great for karaoke parties, and these speakers will also commonly have built-in effects like echo and delay, giving you the ability to customise the sound of your voice. EQ controls are usually available in the form of bass and treble dials, which allow you to boost or lower the low and high frequencies being reproduced. This can be highly beneficial when playing bass-heavy music, as some minor tweaking may be required to achieve the best sound. When it comes to sound, voices and lead instruments are clearly and accurately reproduced right out of the box, and there's a touch of extra rumble in the bass for genres like EDM and hip-hop. Thanks to its graphic EQ, this speaker is also customizable, and some presets are even available in its companion app. That said, compared to the similarly-priced JBL PartyBox 310, you don't get as many features.You won't find any inputs for guitars or microphones, and there aren't any lights to amp up the party. Still, you may not want these features in the first place, and the best portable partyspeaker remains a great choice for taking your music wherever you go.

The PartyBox Encore Essential doesn’t have a hard time being heard, and projects sound powerful and retain clarity at higher listening levels. Given its smaller size, this speaker doesn't get as loud as the PartyBox 310. It reproduces a little less low-bass, so you feel a touch less thump and rumble with bass-centric genres like EDM and hip-hop. That said, it's a small difference overall, and this party speaker still gets loud enough to fill larger and more open spaces with sound. Perhaps the biggest difference between the two devices comes down to their portability—while the 110 is smaller, it doesn't come with wheels or a telescopic handle for transport like the 310. Instead, you have to carry it with your hands. It's not ideal for everyone, but depending on your preferences, you may still find that this speaker is a better value overall.

However, the GO doesn't get as loud, and its default sound isn't quite as neutral, which some users may not enjoy. For example, the speaker has RGB lights that you can customize in different colors to set the mood at your next event, as well as a graphic EQ and several presets to customize its sound. There's even a Boom preset designed to add more emphasis in the bass range. And since it lasts over 68 hours off a single charge, you can host multiple events without worrying about a recharge. Most party speakers with built-in lights will operate on a sound-to-light basis - whereby the lighting will flash, pulse, or change colour in time with the audio being played through the speaker drivers. As for output levels, the Sony SRS-XP700, at maximum volume, reaches an average reading of 99dB- enough to power a medium-sized house party with people talking over the music. We excluded speakers which didn’t offer what we deem to be a reasonable amount of battery life for a party speaker.
