I'm concerned by activating the airbag by mistake when connecting the wires to the new unit (I don't really understand how the airbag is activated / what safety precautions I need to take)

Ran accross this post by mistake, but I know the answer to your rear fog only working on left side... Fog light symbols - to turn them on or off - can usually be found on a button on the dashboard, on a steering wheel stalk, or next to the dial you use to control your regular lights.I see both sides of the argument, and I can see merit in both reasoning. But it is strange that people like us live in europe and embrace things differently than we do. In the UK, street lights on 30mph roads are placed no more than 200 yards (183 metres) apart. So a good rule of thumb for using your fog lights is whether you can see the next street light up the road from the one you're passing. Use this rule, and it's clear that it's only going to be in the foggiest or snowiest conditions that fog lights should be used. I have replaced the bulb holder, bulb and lens on the offside rear of the vehicle (peviously replacing these on the nearside fixed the reverse light issue) but this has not resolved the issue.

Most cars come with a separate button to turn fog lights on or off. Use these to turn your fog lights on. 2. Do fog lights really work? It has a blue relay but only 2 small fuses - a 20A and a 30A - and what look to be further relays or large fuses?! Numbered 09 (blue), 70 (pink) and what appear to be numbers 80 (white) and 08 (white), though the '8' doesn't look like a normal 8. It looks like the white fuse / relay numbered 08 is the same as the one numbered 80 but put in upside down. Hope this makes sense!! New 21w bulbs fitted to the rear bulb holders and all made clean and bright (they weren't bad to start with).

What to do when driving in fog

The dim glow is extinguished when the lights are on - and then all the other switches attain a dim glow as expected.
