About this deal

I mean, you do you. I can't vouch for every epilator, since I'm kinda convinced only the Braun Silk-Epil 9 Flex will be as painless as it was, but here's my pro/con list to help you decide. Buff away dead skin cells and radiate an irresistible glow. The deep body exfoliation brush is 6x more effective than a manual scrub Epilating is known for being slightly painful (you are pulling hair right from the root, after all) but the good news is any pain normally decreases each time you epilate. At worst, feels like the little electric zap I mentioned before. It's like your brain registers the pain, and then as soon as you brace for it to get worse, it's already over. Definitely less painful than threading. Make sure all hairs are gone for a long, long time thanks to the Smartlight special feature. It reveals even the finest hair so you can enjoy a beautifully smooth skin.

SensoSmart™ technology guides your epilation with a red light to ensure the right amount of pressure is applied. The only downfall would really have to be the pain, as well as the time it takes. But, I’m justifying it in the way that shaving has to be done every few days, so if you factor that into three weeks, spending a few hours on the epilator at the beginning of the week is child’s play in comparison. I love that it comes with a bunch of different brush heads to suit a heap of needs (aka trimming for pubes and a facial cap for your upper lip).Featuring wide, long and deep tweezers, the Silk-épil 9 Flex removes even the shortest hairs with precision, that wax cannot catch I’d read online that pubic epilation hurts less if you soften the skin while in the shower or bath with warm water, and because the Braun Silk Epil 9 is waterproof, that’s exactly what I did. Let’s just say, it didn’t help at all, though. I like to think I have a decent pain tolerance, but the truth is, the first time I used this device, I was surprised at how much it hurt. I mean, it is ripping out your hair follicles, after all. But, after using it a couple of times, I became desensitised to the pain and could use it without having to stop as much. I won’t lie to you. My pubes and upper lip hurt bad. But definitely not as much as my tattoo, if that’s any sort of reference point or consolation. My skin, which is by NO means sensitive, was covered in a buuuuunch of tiny red welts after my first epilation sesh. It was very jarring to see, but it went away after a few hours. Now before I begin, I must preface: an epilator is essentially an electronically-powered version of a tweezer, except there’s not just one singular tweezer, but instead, many of them rotating on a spinning wheel designed to grab your hairs and pull them out at the root.

Unlike some other hair removal methods, epilating does provide long-term results, leaving you hair-free for up to four weeks. It won’t banish hair for good, but it will give you significantly more time in between treatments than shaving would. Get ready for a day at the pool without the hassle of waxing, using the fully flexible head for effortless epilation. No pain. No appointments. Just weeks of salon-smooth skin. It comes with a brush to clean out all the hair removal buildup in each of the heads, which helps to keep it clean and fresh. The new Braun Silk-épil 9-010 is the world’s 1st epilator for women with a fully flexible head, for effortless hair removal. Enjoy weeks of salon-smooth skin thanks to Micro-Grip technology and a 40% wider head that removes hairs as short as 0.5mm. Includes additional shaver and trimmer head, a massage cap for fewer skin impurities, and a deep body exfoliation brush that visibly improves skin appearance.

The new Braun Silk-épil 9 Flex 9-020 is the world’s 1st epilator for women with a fully flexible head, for effortless hair removal. Enjoy weeks of salon-smooth skin thanks to Micro-Grip technology and a 40% wider head that removes even the shortest hairs, down to 0.5mm. Includes additional shaver and trimmer head and massage cap for fewer skin impurities. Epilators contain rotating tweezers, which remove hair straight from the follicle to prevent any tugging or pulling on the skin. They can also remove smaller hairs compared to your average wax, leaving you with smoother, better results. Overall, the result was great, almost as if I’d gone for a wax. Aside from the razor, I also did go in with a tweezer to get some other stragglers (particularly on the top half of my coochie), and voila, I was done. How much does the Braun epilator hurt? My legs are covered in tiny baby ingrowns that I just never care enough about to fix, but the epilator kind of popped them open. Seeing the rest of my legs so smooth made me want to take better care and exfoliate better so that next go-around, I can have even smoother legs. Using either chemical or physical exfoliants are fine here, as long as they're not irritating, says Susan Bard, MD, a dermatologist in NYC. I won’t beat around the bush. This hurts! More than any other hair removal I’ve ever experienced before. I felt like my coochie was on fire — and it was not a fun sensation. I, however, did manage to get most of it done, with the exception of having to touch up a few bits with my razor. The shaver head turns the epilator into a fully functional shaver, while the trimmer cap lets you trim hair if you prefer. Wear your favourite tank top with the confidence that your underarms will be soft and smooth. For extra sensitive areas, we recommend using the shaver head included in the set. It’s also much cheaper than an accumulation of yearly wax and laser appointments, which gives it great value for money. As someone who works full-time, it’s also easy to do on my own time, rather than have to rely on booking an appointment with a beauty therapist. I think the final verdict is that I’ll continue to use it on my legs, arms, underarms and pubic area, but I won’t be giving up my razor just yet, as I like to use it to touch up any parts that are too painful or hard to reach. I definitely will be replacing my waxing and laser appointments with it, though. Where can you buy a Braun epilator for yourself? Here it is in slow-mo — it’s also spitting out little water droplets because i just cleaned it, fyi. ' Does epilating hurt?

Testers were given the choice to trial the device in either wet and/or dry conditions (if suitable for both), and were provided with all the attachments that come with the device, so they had the option to use it on all or specific areas of the body. It's expensive. Everyone has different pain tolerances, and while I'd def classify myself as a pain weenie, who's to say that the Braun Silk-Epil 9 will be just as painless for you? It's definitely an investment to make and one that you might not be able to walk away from if you throw down so much cash for it.For what it's worth, my personal experience did not find epilating wet to be any more soothing, but contorting around in my iron maiden of a single shower stall may have impacted this. How to deal with the ingrown hairs Hot tip: I also noticed that epilating definitely hurt more when I tried to do it right before I started my period as opposed to when I used it afterwards. Science says that your pain receptors are more active before and during your period, which causes you to be more sensitive to pain than usual. So, my recommendation is to try to avoid epilating during that time of the month. There are a number of ways you can prep skin before epilating. Exfoliating with a scrub will help avoid ingrown hairs and bathing in warm water will help to open up pores –just make sure the water isn't too hot, as this could lead to skin irritation.
