About this deal

Car manufacturers that pre-charge DEF systems with fluid may continually monitor the concentration of AdBlue® using an RFM refractometer fitted on a bypass line. The concentration may be read from the display or more conveniently, output via a network connection to remote display, PLC and/or data capture device, where alarm signals may be pre-set for AdBlue® concentration at 32-33% urea. A previous owner has only added a small amount of additive into the reservoir and not topped it up and has reset the counter - The engine ECU therefore assumes the tank is full when it is not and therefore the estimations are immediately incorrect.

Your Volkswagen car is fitted with an advanced emissions control system, which helps your vehicle meet the latest Euro 6 exhaust gas regulations. How does the system work? So although Diagbox can estimate the additive remaining it can't be 100%. When it gets to a certain estimated level, it looks at your remaining miles due to the next service interval and if it thinks you won't have enough Eolys fluid to make it until the next service, it will flag up the low additive warning. The car has been serviced by an independent garage after its first 2 years and those records are not complete I think. There's no mention of the eolys and as I'm becoming aware most independent garages don't have the proper diagnostic equipment for PSA cars, so even if it has been topped up it could be that the system just thinks theres nothing left. Althoug my own mechanics' tester indicates that the eolys is 95% full. It would also not make sense for the pump to try to pump fluid if it thought it to be empty? Perhaps it's a clogged injector. Often rebranded ‘Automotive urea solution’ to eliminate the risk of prosecution by trading standards (as a mix of less than 31.8% urea cannot be labelled AdBlue). Victims of this weaker concentration may not be able to seek compensation under the Trades Description Act.ISO 22241-1 quality requirements, which determine the quality characteristics of the diesel exhaust fluid to ensure the proper performance of the SCR system. This is the main officially approved international standard. The AdBlue tank has been replaced so I hoped I bought a problem free car, but alas, I am now facing the EOLYS issue and it needs a new EOLYS unit. Why does Adblue need to be a pure 32.5% urea solution and why is it important to test it to ISO22241-2? SCR systems are part of the engine powertrain configuration, and contaminants or impurities in the AdBlue®/DEF could cause the SCR system to malfunction or fail. Thus, it is important to maintain quality standards as characterized in the ISO 22241-1 standard. Intertek provides a full range of prompt AdBlue®/DEF testing and analysis conforming to industry standards. Gebruik conform de instructies van de OEM van het voertuig en conform de instructies voor het testen van het SCR-systeem.

Shift to the next level measurement process (from manual to automated, or to on-line measurement; automation) Applications: all vehicles fitted with diesel engines using a Urea solution at 32.5% as a diesel exhaust fluid (AdBlue®). In the event of a negative result, perform the SCR pressure build-up test to verify that the pressure of 9 bars has been reached. If this test is conclusive, first clean the Adblue injector with hot water or replace it later. A series of warnings will be given via the driver information system, accompanied by advice/messages. Manufacturers of Aqueous Urea Solutions (AUS) within the European Union are required to conform to ISO 22241-2 in respect of refractive index measurement. This norm dictates that the measurement temperature must be extremely stable (±0.02 °C) and the refractive index resolved to 5-decimal places. Bellingham + Stanley has produced a specific refractometer called the RFM990-AUS32 that meets this requirement. Continuous DEF Refractometer for Car Manufacturers

How can Bellingham + Stanley help you measure DEF easily and effectively? Reducing Environmental Pollution So the potential problem is that your engine ECU may assume there is more fluid that there is in reality. This means it will go on dosing the fuel tank even if the tank is empty. The problems happen when it runs dry. I scanned pressure transducer for DEF pump and it’s reading 0 bar, I suspect bad pump. I search for normal pressure of pump, I can not find. Thanks in advance! ISO 22241-2 is the current used standard across Europe for AUS32 (chemical name for Adblue as Adblue is a trade name which is now the common usage term for the solution). The localised German Standard DIN70070 has now been largely superseded by its ISO 22241-2 counterpart in terms of limit thresholds. It is mandatory for new Adblue to be tested to the specification to be sold as ISO 22241-2 compliant. Some Adblue manufacturers may choose to perform all their testing in house, whilst others choose to use an independent lab to perform the analysis to prove the analysis is completely impartial. Analysis of each batch before sale ensures the quality of the Adblue meets the high quality standards of the ISO 22241-2 specification. Once sold, regular testing from bulk storage and vehicle tanks for common contaminants that may have happened after sale becomes critical, so measuring the urea content to confirm it has not been diluted, elemental analysis to detect presence of catalyst poisons and detection of fuel/oil in the sample are also important. x 300mm clear braided connection pipes – with parallel and 90 degree 6.3mm snap connectors to allow connection to the SCR system in restricted areas and view the fluid colour etc.
