Each of the HDMI inputs feature their own dedicated standards converter. That means ATEM Mini will automatically convert 1080p, 1080i and 720p sources to the switcher video standard! By default the switcher will set its video format automatically, however you can also set the switcher to any video standard! The HDMI outputs are a true "aux" output so you can clean switch each HDMI input to the output. You can even "direct" switch input 1 to the HDMI output for low latency eSport productions. Plus the ATEM Mini Extreme models support 2 low latency direct loops! On the more powerful ATEM Mini Pro and ATEM Mini Extreme models, the HDMI output can be selected to display a full multiview! There's never been a switcher that’s easier to use, as you simply press any of the input buttons labelled by number on the front panel to cut between video sources. You can choose between cut or effects transitions by selecting the cut or auto buttons. One of the features that stands out with the ATEM is the video transitions. These feature swipes and fades that can be applied to the live stream video switch. Adjusting type, time and effect can all be done through the physical buttons, making it very easy to understand.There were and still are cheaper switchers designed for the home, however, their function is often limited to simple switches and fades. There are even "media players" which are a still store for titles and graphics that you can load via external software control.

A feature introduced with the Pro was the multiview option; this enabled you to display the live feed from each camera on a single screen. This feature is incredibly useful and a major timesaver for anyone filming live events that may need an edit for later delivery. The only difference between the two is that the ISO enables you to record down the separate feeds from each camera, along with audio and transitions individually. Not only does it save down all the individual components of the stream, but it also compiles them into a DaVinci Resolve project file.One area here that would have been nice would have been assigning the overlay to a single HDMI input. So if you have several people in an interview as you swap the camera, the graphic overlay for that person would appear.
