About this deal

In the Fridge: Store leftover Bombay Aloo in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days. It is rich with a creamy sauce, and you can adjust the spiciness to your personal preference and tastes!

Toasted Bombay Masala Sandwich is a pressed-sandwich layered with chutney, aloo masala (spiced mashed potatoes), fresh vegetables, then grilled in a sandwich toaster. Aloo Gobi Traybake – another variation to try is adding cauliflower to the potatoes. This creates a flavorful dish called Aloo Gobi, which is a popular North Indian curry. Simply roast diced cauliflower and potatoes with spices in the oven until crispy. Once you have the mashed potato filling ready, all you need is butter, bread, crisp, crunchy vegetables, cheese and condiments to spread and serve. Onions, tomatoes, beetroots et al: Feel free to experiment with the salads that bulk out the sandwich. Cucumbers, peppers and chillies are all popular additions. Garam Masala is relatively mild but but has intense spicy taste. The spices are usually roasted to bring out the flavor and aroma. The ground spices can be mixed with water to form a paste.

Grill the sandwiches in a sandwich machine or panini maker. You can also toast the sandwiches on a grill pan, carefully turning them once to achieve an even char on the bread. Cut into pieces and serve hot with chilli sauce, tomato ketchup and more chutney.

In a pan, heat oil. Add mustard seeds and as they splutter, add finely chopped green chillies, ginger and curry leaves. In a heavy skillet, over medium heat, roast coriander seeds, Chana dal, Red chili, Fenugreek seeds, Mustard. Turn the seeds frequently so they don’t burnThe sandwich may have come to India through the British, but the people of Mumbai (as Bombay is now called) have added their own fillings and spices to make it their own. Sandwiches are very popular in Mumbai. You will find a sandwich stall near every almost college, near railway stations, in markets etc. I am used to eating sandwiches outside since my school days and then later during my college days. My mom also used to make sandwiches at home. But I always preferred the spicy sandwiches made by the Bombay roadside vendors. This one is another staple in our house that the kids love to have with their idli and dosa. Ingredients
