About this deal

All of these spells are 12” range for most wizards, but if the caster is a Lord or Draconith then goes up to 18”. A nice way to be able to show how these more senior/powerful wizards are better at magic than their counterparts. It’s got a good mix of Damage and Debuffs, and one buff for good measure. years prior, TWTW was beset by daemons (sound familiar?). The High Elf mages, lead by Caledor Dragontamer, created the Great Vortex and channeled the 8 winds of magic into another place/dimension (or maybe ... 8 dimensions?). This drained the world of most magic, which the daemons used to sustain themselves, thus saving TWTW.

At the end of the day though, Stormcast aren’t flash hot as an army right now. There are some intriguing ideas in this set, but we really need to wait for the new Battletome before we get too excited. Except for the teased chariot, of course. GW, be a bae and just shoot a couple of those little beauties our way, ‘kay? As with any Age of Sigmar faction, there is a swathe of characters available to bolster your Stormcast Eternals army. Here’s a run down of the biggest, shiniest names: First Karl Franz from the World-That-Was, now I don't think it Franz because the combination of the incarnate and Sigmar probably completely absorbed his soul to the point where it doesn't exist. Also he is described as a King not an Emperor unlike Lord-Celestant Imperius:

It would be poor storytelling for it to be Karl Franz. It would be even worse from an AoS metanarrative, as the Prime becomes a character that new fans of AoS have literally no connections to. I'd honestly be dissapointed if it were him. I get that it's cool, in a sense. But it's not Franz. Born into servitude in the bowels of a Chaos citadel, and captured while escaping it in a slave rebellion he started, Gavriel Sureheart was saved and reforged by Sigmar at the split-second of his execution. He is now a legendary Lord-Celestant of the Hammers of Sigmar, using his sharp combat skills to lead the Stormcast Eternals into battle.

Also called ‘The First Scion of Sigmar’, the gigantic, metal-winged Celestant-Prime is the first Stormcast Eternal ever to have been forged by Sigmar. He leads all Lord-Commanders, and only answers to the God-King himself. It’s not an inspiring graph, but there’s a fairly decent spread in here. Praetors and Yndrasta are the real winners, while Annihilators are interesting, Lord-Imperatants and Knight-Vexillors both have use cases, and Vindictors are your bog standard vanilla battleline. The only real loser here is the Knight-Arcanum, who really just needs to go home and level up to become a Lord-Arcanum before being interesting again.

At last, this glorious fella wielding hammers and magic. An absolute bargain of a price. Buy 2 of this guy. buy 4, buy 10! You can’t field more than one but you can paint as many as you like. EDIT: To clarify, its like Mass Effect vs 40k. One universe is far stronger then the other [40k > ME]. Hilariously so. As always there remains a lot of versatility in play, you want ranged? You got it. You want to run the tankiest guys you can as Battleline? That’s there. The addition of Dragons adds a new dimension with both two powerful Leader-Behemoths and Zippy riders who can just ruin someone’s day. If you like Stormcast as they were I think you’ll be very happy with this book. If you didn’t, and don’t care about Dragons perhaps our next review is more your speed. Orruk Warclans will be live shortly!

Though he is a figurehead to the Hammers of Sigmar more than any other Stormhost, the Celestant-Prime’s armour will manifest the livery of whatever warriors he aids. Around him the Stormcasts fight all the harder, for they know that Sigmar has sent his mightiest champion to help them accomplish their mission. Anvil of Apotheosis • Chamber Serf • Lord-Commanders • Reforging • Redeemed • Sigmarite • Stormhosts ( Chambers • Conclaves • Retinues) • Transfigured We can’t say whether or not the old points will go up, but the Dominion points don’t seem to have a fair relationship to the older book. We’ll see which changes first!Blazing with Celestial might, the Celestant-Prime raises his sceptre before letting it fall, causing comets to rain from above. RagnarokAngel: Overall I feel pretty good about the book. I think it’s a solid progression of the army, even if splitting up Warscrolls just further adds to the mess. Stormcast don’t feel radically new but they don’t need to. They appeal to people who want to wear big suits of armor and hit things and they can do that even better than before. End of story. Obsidian Amulet –Anytime the bearer is affected by a spell, roll a die. On a 4+, ignore the spell. Similar to the Hallowed Knights, there isn’t an exception built in for friendly spells so if you intend for them to be buffed by spells, don’t take this. C- He says that he's fought a number of things that quote "would tear apart legions of your gold-armoured champions" unqoute. Things he specifically mentioned were; daemons (most likely Thangrim's doom, Skarbrand, and the Keeper of Secrets from Elfslayer), deranged wizards (the twins that teclis helped with, thanquol and kemmler seems the biggest candidates, but not the only), beasts and monsters (carnosaurs, dragons, and a skytitan are the strongest he's faced, but hardly the only that could apply).
