The most cost-effective way of creating stuffed toys is using waste as alternatives to commercial toy stuffing. Things like paper and scrap fabric won’t cost you a penny and are ideal for practice or anyone strapped for cash. Therefore, having an in-depth understanding of the variety is critical if you want to find the best fit for your stuffed toys. Speaking of variety, it is incredibly vast; you’ll be spoilt for choice. And you can even combine materials if, say, you want a soft-bodied toy with weighted limbs. It’s more common to see cotton blended with other materials, such as poly-fil, kapok, or down. If you can find a cotton pillow blend, you may be able to reap the benefits of both filler types. 9. Microbead pillow stuffing You’ll find that some are soft while others appear stiff. It’s also available in a Mini version Unofficial stuffing tools An animal based natural fibre from sheep. If you make toys with natural fibres, it may make sense to use a wool based toy filling too. Sheep have been around for thousands of years so it would make sense that early soft toys were stuffed with wool too. Wool toy stuffing can also come carded and uncarded. It is also a bio-degradable material and is naturally fire resistant. So which one do I use?
