The Latitude also has better connectivity, with two USB-C ports -- either of which can be used to charge the device -- along with a standard USB 3.1 port. On the Laptop Mag Battery Test 2.0 -- which continuously browses the web, watches video and runs graphics benchmarks (all at 150 nits of brightness) -- the Latitude 5290 lasted 9 hours and 7 minutes. That's the exact same time as the ThinkPad X1 Yoga. The premium-laptop average is a lesser 8:43.

Display

Users can log in with either the rear-mounted fingerprint reader or facial recognition using Windows Hello. There's also an optional smart card reader for token-based logins. Our review unit included vPro for remote management, though that's not the case with all configurations. Use the following command to load the appropriate driver to the computer and press Enter. Both the 5-megapixel front-facing (for selfies and video chats) and 8-megapixel rear-facing (for snapshots) cameras capture above-averagely bright and detailed images, in addition to the former's face recognition with Windows Hello. Side-facing speakers pump out reasonably loud and clear audio, predictably free of deep bass but accurate and pleasant for streaming entertainment.

Only the ThinkPad X1 Yoga was faster (508.9 MBps), while the Surface Pro (339 MBps) and the average (283.2 MBps) were slower. Performance

Use the CD command to navigate through the folders to the *.inf driver location. Use dir as necessary to see the contents of each folder. See ( Figure 6 [English Only]). Boot to the respective Dell Windows11 or Windows10 media and select your computer and keyboard languages to get to the Home screen. Of course, the Latitude 5290 does have the same bloat as other Windows 10 machines, including Candy Crush Soda Saga, Dolby Access, Disney Magic Kingdoms, and March of Empires: War of Lords. Firstly, any non-flat surface gives it the fits. Laps, beds, and so forth – they’ll send your Latitude toppling unless it stays perfectly still. Detachable 2-in-1’s are just not balanced – or built with a firm enough base – for true ‘anywhere’ usage. Make sure you buy the keyboard at the same time as the tablet itself, however, as you may end up getting stung for more than you expected. When bought alongside the Latitude, the travel keyboard cost 96 (reduced from 147, we might add) but when bought separately it has a whopping list price of 193 - almost double the price of Microsoft's TypeCover keyboard. The Latitude’s claim to hardware fame is its 8th-generation Intel Core i5 processor, which helped it achieve excellent scores in our benchmark tests as you’ll see shortly. Less exciting is its 8GB of DDR3 memory – that’s only just enough RAM to keep the Latitude from hiccupping during heavy, multi-tab, multi-program usage.The Latitude 5290 relies on Intel's UHD Graphics 620 integrated graphics, but it achieved an average speed of of 39.9fps when running Dirt Showdown, so it should even be able to handle some off-duty gaming action as well.
