About this deal

These things may seem minor, but Tzeentch lists have typically always had about 300-500 points to play with anyway, since the nerfing of the Incarnate. The core summoning shell is in tact, and these things just help the army better stay alive long enough for the Lords of Change to arrive. The Best of the Rest I strongly recommend at least another 10 Namarti Thralls. They may be eye-less but they’re not harmless, as their 2″ reach and surprising damage output can chew through most enemy units. Doug Jankowski – Null Myriad: A total of 50 Mortek Guard and a harvester anchor the list, with Katakros and Arkhan doing the heavy lifting That said, the classic Bugman’s Glow, Cadian Fleshtone and Kislev Flesh combo hasn’t done me dirty yet. Fyreslayers These buffs only effect Namarti Thralls and Namarti Reavers, but you’re not trying to get Reavers into combat so really they’re only effecting the Thralls. They’ve also seen an update for the better, so being able to hit harder is definitely welcome.

There’s a lot of stuff in this box. Like, a lot of stuff. Here it all is rammed into my (somewhat measly) lightbox. For example, a 1” round base, x 5 models can be stretched 13” long in a straight line, and maintain coherency. When it comes to denying deep strike effects, you get an oval-ish shape 31” long, and 19” deep. And speaking of painting, there’s a pair of new colours designed to help you get your new Idoneth Deepkin ready for battle. With the distinctive pale skin tones such a prominent part of the models – especially the Namarti Thralls – we are releasing Ionrach Skin, a new Base colour, and the corresponding Layer, Deepkin Flesh. These plus your choice of Shade will be the ideal way to make your Idoneth look like they’ve just emerged from the sunken depths.

Today we look at how to play Idoneth Deepkin of Age of Sigmar. Here’s how to hit those landlubbers like a tidal wave! Stephan Kintzel – Fangs of Sotek: Standard double slann summoning list that skips Bastiladons to run a Troglodon Faction rules for tides that hand out buffs across the whole army and change each turn, and rituals that grant a super buff on one turn of the game. In battle the Namarti Thralls fight with an array of weapons known as lanmari - two-handed swords, great scythe-axes or polearms of intricate design. The weight and reach of such weapons are useful when driving off the enormous sea creatures that bedevil the Idoneth enclaves, while their broad blades are suited to scything through the teeming swarms of predatory fish that seek to prey upon the aelves. This new faction of aelves for Warhammer Age of Sigmar are arriving with a splash, bringing a brand new battletome to the game, along with a host of new Citadel miniatures and accessories. The usual artefacts, command trait, battle tactics and grand strategies you’ve come to expect from 3rd edition battletomes. The King is a fearsome melee combatant who rides a savage Deepmare and inspires nearby Akhelian allies with plus one to hit in melee, and turns two kinds of Akhelian knights into battleline choices. The Akhelian Ishlaen Guard are well defended by Biovoltaic Barriers which provide an unmodifiable four plus armour save that improves to three plus on the turn that they charge, while the Akhelian Morrsarr Guard wield devastating voltspears that unleash a deadly Biovoltaic Blast on the charge, inflicting mortal wounds. Both knight units ride savage Fangmora eels that strike out with fangs and lashing tails. Jonatan Rasmussen – Allherd (4-1): Be’lakor plus 15 Bullgors and 3 Enlightened on Discs and a Doombull player, 5-round Grand Tournament in Ballerup, Denmark on October 21 2023. All the lists for this event can be found in Best Coast Pairings. Note that this tournament made use of heavy soft scoring, though the tournament winner went undefeated anyway and thus won’t affect the showdown. The Showdown

If you want to break tradition and field a lot of foot troops I think this will be a go-to, as it basically lets you do Mighty Destroyers from Ironjawz, with a smaller unit pool. Again, much like the tokens, the rulers are a bit of a disappointment in what has thus far been an extremely promising release. Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Fury of the Deep Review – Models Idoneth born with withered souls are known as Namarti. They must survive several infusions of soulstuff stolen from other species to live to even a fraction of a normal elf lifespan. They are the serf caste of Idoneth society, labourers and frontline raiders in battle. Namarti are eyeless, but other senses honed in the smothering ocean mean this is no hindrance.Rather like the Thrallmaster before it, the Akhelian Alloplex is a fairly long-winded build but isn’t too bad. There are a couple of points during construction – when attaching the stand to the rear of the Alloplex upon which the second crewmember stands, and lining up said second crewmember with his crossbow and the stand upon which he is attached – that are a bit fiddly, but other than that it’s a straightforward model to put together.

As you’d expect with any aelven force, they’re fast, lightly armoured and hit hard – making the most effective use of these guys will come down to knowing how to combine them with your allegiance abilities. For one, these guys are ideal for screening – keep them in front of your most valuable units and they’ll absorb fire thanks to Forgotten Nightmares, a rule we previewed earlier that applies to all Idoneth Deepkin. For another, you can reduce casualties by making sure they’re in close combat in the third game turn – thanks to High Tide on the Tides of Death table, they’ll get to strike first!

Grand Strategies and Battle Tactics

player, 5-round Grand Tournament in Westminster, MD, US on October 21 2023. All the lists for this event can be found in Best Coast Pairings. Kaleb Walters – Guild of Summoners – 1st Place Like all aelves, Namarti Thralls possess a physical grace that to other races appears almost supernatural. The Thralls march to war for the Idoneth as the main body of infantry, and it is their task to screen their comrades, then to engage and hold the foe in place. This allows the swifter-moving Akhelians a chance to strike where they deem best. It is a grim prospect, for casualties are often high amongst the Namarti Thralls, but it is a duty they willingly accept. Although they often resent their lower-caste status, the Namarti realise that every successful raid secures more souls for their enclave. This resource is first used to ensure the survival of newborn Namarti, but the excess is used to replenish the diminishing souls of the adults. Such motivation is more than enough to ensure that the Namarti Thralls are caught up in the tides of war, ever eager to capture more spirit-stuff. With all the new Idoneth Deepkin models coming out, I was really excited to start painting them. While there are some truly impressive centrepiece models like the Eidolon, I always like to start with the rank and file of the army. This is what you’ll have the most of, so how you paint them will define the look of your army. In my opinion, it’s better to start here, and base your hero and larger model paint schemes off of them, than the other way around. Crusade rules, including rules for harvesting souls to spend on minor buffs on the post-battle phase. The final model this week is a named character to lead your fledgeling force – Lotann, Warden of the Soul Ledgers. Holder of the catalogue of souls and greatest of the Soul Wardens, Lotann is an inspirational figure to the soul-devouring Namarti, and the model is suitably epic. Posed holding a scroll and his bone quill, Lotann is accompanied by his Ochtar familiar, which carries weapons to defend its master (as well as a pot of ink for his quill!). Lotann looks like a joy to paint, with the Ochtar and his ornate robes providing plenty of opportunity for showing off your brush skills.
