About this deal

The romance between Aspen and Blaise is awesome. Tijan writes good romance and she does great book boyfriends. Blaise is great with Aspen and though he was never one to date, he gets hooked on her pretty fast. It helps that she is model pretty (actually having done some modeling in the past). The major conflicts in the story were terrific, though I won’t specify what those are. I really enjoyed that characters from other Tijan books made up much of the supporting cast. It is really making me want to move some of those books I missed up to the top of my TBR. do you guys see this shit 🥺 i just love two bros realizing they don't wanna be fboys anymore, so endearing. Zeke bonding with Aspen was cute too. but yeah i mean Zeke & Blaise >>> Aspen & Blaise. sorry. Aspen (h) being the loner type of character + Blaise (H) is your typical popular kid + they have dark past + they connect through trauma and shit + H helps h get out of her shell + h makes H want to be a "better man" + add a little OW drama + family drama and BAM = ✨ NEW ADULT ROMANCE✨ I would love to say many more things about this book but i don't want to ruin the story with spoilers!!! Now some people have a problem with this trope because Quincey ended up with her sister’s ex, but to me, it didn’t totally weird me out, maybe because I don’t have a sister. Nate and Valerie were never shown together, Quincey didn’t know them as a couple, and the relationship they did have was very casual. Also, Quincey and Valerie weren’t close as children and didn’t grow up together, even though they became closer after Nova’s birth. To me, we never got to know Valerie and Nate as a couple, and the only person who thought they could’ve potentially got together was Quincey, Nate never gave an indication that he loved Valerie, in fact he was adamant he hadn’t. So, because there were no residual romantic feelings there from Nate, I didn’t see a problem with Nate and Quincey as a couple, but that’s just my opinion.

Their relationship is so pure and so beautiful, that I couldn't let go of this book even for a second! I understand he was physically abused by his non-bio dad and have anger issues. but that doesn't mean he has to be always rude and fighting with everyone. Towards the end of the book, he beat his biological dad which was actually to save himself because he thought he was getting beat up again. That just doesn't make any sense. While I hated that this book had the Threesome Fearsome apart for most of the book, a lot was accomplished. I love that the author could have had several things come between Mason and Samantha and that she didn't take that route. Instead, she reinforced how much these two belong together and had them reacting in ways you want a couple to react in times of adversity. It also showed the growth in their relationship.

Let me say right here that i'm having difficulty containing myself, i want to chant it out loud !!! NATE NATE NATE!!! This book bleeds deep into your emotions, taking you from sorrow to joy, to anger and pure pleasure. Pride, YES PRIDE in our mature Nate and the boys and what magnificent men they have become !!! But most of all its yet another reason to always expect the quality and depth of Tijan's characters and writing and another FC family moving permanently into our hearts !!! What I liked, after all the blow job bullshit Blaise grew on me, sure he was a douche, the whole don’t label girls whores etc seemed mismatched shoe horned feminist bullshit that Blaise thought, but that was lazy writing. He actually was an ok character, he had a shitty family, shitty past, and self esteem issues, in some ways he reminded me of a male version of Alex from Broken and Screwed. Suffering from trauma, and letting the ugly and pain come out and be seen. But he had some self awareness, and he and Aspen were good together and he actually grew as a character which I like. Aspen was a decent character, a bit too similar to Summer and previous heroines, but likeable. Bren, Cross and co were much more bearable in this book, making me think they all would have worked better just as cameos in other novels. I should hate him, but I loved Zeke, he actually woke up and tried to change from being a bully in the end, he was massively loyal to Blaise even when he got shade for it, he treated Aspen well, and was actually funny. He more than any of the other guys in this book would have a good novel, and as I said before I am pro him and crazy Veronica (not because we have the same name), but I liked the fact she was not beautiful like all the other supermodels in the book, she was loud and obnoxious, but confident and funny. I liked that the family members in pain here, like Stephen, Taz etc, actively seeking counselling and were trying to change the dynamics. Over

Ultimately I feel like the story wasn't complete. The Valerie and father situations needed full resolution. I also really didn't need Nate and Quincy to name their two daughters after Valerie! Look, I'm a pretty confident woman but I couldn't handle that. Naming my children after my husband's f' buddy who was also my step-sister? Nah, I'm good.... Logan hushed him. “Don’t listen to him. We’re still basking in the honeymoon stage. He just doesn’t want you guys to be jealous since it’s obvious you two aren’t.” I was following her wishes, doing what she wanted. Though I hadn’t a clue why she was doing it this way.So the next time they meet, they bump into each other, Hot coffee is accidentally spilled on Aspen so Blaise immediately removes her shirt and starts putting water on the burned area and then freezes. And............ 100 points if you guessed what happens next.

Quincy recognises that she loves Nate but nothing will happen with that as he made it clear that it wouldn't Yeah?” I had the glass in my one hand and grabbed the phone in my other one, hitting the button so it was now on speaker. I needed to feel free for some reason, and keeping a phone pressed to my ear couldn’t give me that sensation. The plot isn't bad but the author's writing is very messy, unprofessional, and all over the place. It's very confusing to me and sometimes I am unable to fathom the character's emotions in this book. Actually, I didn't feel a single thing while reading this book, Not Blaise's anger issues neither Aspen's abandonment issues. The character's emotions changes within a second. One minute they are sobbing, next they are talking, then fighting, having sex, arguing. That was his signal. He didn’t want Nate to be a part of our talk. And Nate got it. His nostril’s flared, his jaw clenched, but he forced out a polite smile. “Of course. I’ll take you to my own bathroom. It’s clean and private.” Anyway one day she decides to go to a party in the woods, where she ends up seeing oh the SEXY Blaise getting a blowjob. Now being a decent human you would actually turn around and leave or maybe watch for a few minutes and then leave, ESPECIALLY when the guy catches you watching. But nooooo Aspen stands there and watched Blaise get a blow job. Logan shot him a look, his eyes glittered from the sunlight. Or evil mirth. “Whatever. Once I get a hold of a thread, I don’t let go. Ask Quinn down there. I like to make people pay if they hurt someone I love.” Quincy was a professional ballet dancer who dropped everything to take on Nova. Even though her relationship with Valerie was strained she stepped up to the table - which I applaud her for. However, I don't feel like she ever really saw Valerie in the right light. She made it seem like Valerie was a saint and as things progressed between her and Nate she struggled to feel good enough. She kept saying that Valerie should be here. She waffled between being confident and being an absolute mess. I really wanted to like her because she displayed strength and resilience but I struggled with her because she was willing to "keep and stay with Nate for as long as he wanted her even though he would never love her". I needed her to be upfront with Nate, I needed her to confront him fully but she never did. Almost all of Tijan's heroine's have some little bit of doormatness in then and this is where her's was....
