Nespresso® coffee machines collect a fair amount of oils, tannins and granules build-up inside the brewing chamber of the coffee machine that you cannot get rid of with conventional cleaning methods, not even by descaling your machine.

Signs that your machine needs to be descaled may be the lengthening of brewing time, reduction of pressure in the machine or dripping at the machine’s outlet. Next you’ll want to start by removing the drip tray from beneath your machine and emptying any residual water into the sink. Then, wash and rinse it with warm water and a mild detergent. Let it air dry before returning it to the machine. Make sure to empty and clean the drip tray after each use. Vinegar and water may also be used if the owner's manual for your machine says it will not cause harm. Next, place an extra-large cup or mug underneath the machine's spout. Hold down both buttons on the top of the machine for three seconds. The Nespresso machine will then enter a descaling cycle. This will take a few minutes.
