About this deal

When carrying from boot to course, even with the battery in, I found the trolley lightweight and easy to manoeuvre. Weighing just 9.6kg without a battery, older golfers will have no problem carrying the trolley. However I did think that this could have been made slightly easier with an obvious handle on the trolley, like the C2i GPS trolley had. The fully integrated, high performance GPS technology comes pre-loaded with over 40,000 golf courses worldwide with no annual fees or subscriptions to pay on top. The warranty on both brands covers manufacturing defects that occur during normal use and accidental damage is not covered. However, Powakaddy and Motocaddy come with great reputations for quality and there should be no issues when using their products. PowaKaddy has simply taken away the central bar in the main frame and added stability elsewhere. There is nothing there that shouldn't be, it's smart, modern, contemporary but looks sturdy and shouts quality from the moment you pull it out of the box. You would think that after selling more than One Million Electric Trolleys Powakaddy would be making the perfect golf trolley by now, well I must say it is good, but a long way from being perfect.

Unfortunately, the budget of most amateur and recreational golfers won’t stretch as far as a professional caddie – as wonderful as that would be. But here at Clarkes Golf Centre, we supply the next best thing – the Powakaddy FX7 golf trolley. PowaKaddy’s classic push trolley has been given a fifth-generation update for 2021 with the brand calling it “simplicity refined”. In many ways you can see the journey Powakaddy has been on, they keep improving their product on each release, if like me you needed a new electric trolley because of wear and tear then it is a good option, the design of the electric trolley is decent, but the plastic build quality could be improved. As you can probably tell, I think this is a great bit of golf kit. I managed to find a couple of little flaws and areas for improvement but on the whole, you'll do well to find a GPS electric golf trolley that performs as well, looks as good, and lasts as long as the PowaKaddy FX7 GPS. Would I Use It?

Support

The premium 2.8” full-colour touch screen display delivers a sharper experience than ever before and is easy to use with autonomous functions such as auto-hole advance, auto-course location and automatic distance function (ADF). In addition to all of the features highlighted in the electric golf trolleys above, there are some other key considerations to bear in mind when comparing Powakaddy to Motocaddy. 1. Reliability and Repairs

The new compact range benefits from a multitude of new features, including a fiv eper cent reduction in weight, weighing in at just 9.8kg. Models also include PowaKaddy’s optional Auto-Cruise Downhill EBS (Electronic Braking System) and anti-tamper dial controls, as well as a Simple-2-Fold system that folds to 20 per cent smaller than the previous trolleys. Depending on the course you’re playing, an optional self-sensing Electronic Braking System will help to slow the trolley down on steep inclines. For greater downhill control, the Powakaddy FX7 features a new Hall Effect Transducer (HET) which will help to prevent the trolley from rolling away, tipping over, becoming damaged or causing serious injury. Over the years, it has been a proven performer and while it may not have quite the same folding capabilities of the new PowaKaddy Cube or DFX-Lite FF, it is completely set up to glide over all sorts of terrain with the minimum of effort. Powakaddy has a wide range of electric trolleys for 2023 which offer a huge choice of features to suit your needs. The Fazer 18 Hole Electric Trolley boasts a powerful Lucas 22ah (12V) battery and powerful 200w motor. With nine speed settings plus 3 auto stop distances, it certainly matches the feature set of the cheaper Powakaddy and Motocaddy range. PowaKaddy have designed the DLX-Lite FF to fold into the flattest sandwich shape possible. So it’s thin enough to be laid over or under your golf bag in the boot. And if you drive a car with very limited space, it can slip neatly into the footwell behind the driver’s seat. As the centrepiece in the outstanding range, the Powakaddy FX7 GPS EBS™ Electric Golf Trolley is the most intelligent and high-performance trolley on the market. There is also a distance measurement function that allows you to accurately measure the distance of drives and displays the total mileage of the trolley, and a competition mode that removes the features that are banned in the competitive environment. Some of these come in at lower price points if the price of the leading brands put you off. Some are more premium golf trolleys and are more expensive, however they are all worth considering before commiting.

It headlines what is set to be an exciting year of launches for PowaKaddy, the world’s leading electric trolley brand, with new electric trolleys, push trolleys and bags set to follow. The rechargeable remote control handset is one of the leading features of the Motocaddy M7 electric trolley. The simple button design means the trolley is easy to control and the pause and emergency stop functions make it one of the safest on the golf course. Key Considerations

Have you undergone face-to-face, dynamic custom fitting and understand the advantages and disadvantages of purchasing PING golf clubs without a custom fitting?

The CT8 GPS joins the CT6 in PowaKaddy’s compact range, and boasts a fully-integrated GPS, accessible via an entirely new 3.5-inch full-colour touch screen display.
