About this deal

LJ Ross is an internationally bestselling author, whose books have sold over 7 million copies worldwide.

I am a person that enjoys reading History, Military History, and other works within history such as Biographies. This book provided for me a terrific escape from my normal genre of book I like to read and the story here on Catherine Coulters first book was nothing short of thrilling. She kept me interested throughout and the surprise for me was the ending. I had no idea that she would change the outcome from the direction I thought she was taking. Either way I will be looking forward to reading more of her works in the future as I sometimes have to step away from history. A friend recommended this author to me after I finished a book on the Korean War and needed a break; I am glad that she did and I am now a fan of Coulter's to some small degree of interest on the books she writes and/or has written. I will follow the path and as I have now read book one, at my next needed break I will read book two. all the previous "spoilers" in this review were just silly television giggles that i didn't want cheapening the main text of a review of a serious-toned book, but this following one is an actual spoiler about an incredibly small passage in the book, but one that made my heart physically ache with emotion. Trigger warnings: suicide (in the past), death of a parent (in the past), alcohol abuse, death, death of a spouse, disappearance of a child, explosions, murder, blood Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted. La valle è così stretta che viene chiamata ‘terra d’ombra’ perché a farla da padrona è proprio l’ombra:If you are keen on an escapist thriller, then this is, without doubt, the book for you. It is an intriguing read with stunning scenery and colourful characters that will keep you guessing. one word: lusitania.that's all. that scene broke my heart and i would have loved more moments like that throughout this fine, but not emotionally jarring, novel. Disclaimer: Jonathan Ball Publishers SA kindly sent me a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review. Much like this very place. This painted lady. We admire her, revel in her beauty, but underneath it all, there's a darkness to her. As we've discovered."

Two days after their arrival a monsoon threatens to hit the island, and one of their party has gone missing. The tensions that were slowly simmering come straight to the surface, and it becomes very obvious that something is not quite right at Turtle Cove. There seems to be a lot of animosity between the resort's staff and the island's locals. The rising storm is making it difficult to search for the missing person, and it also means that no one can travel to and from the island. When a body is eventually found their paradise getaway turns into a tropical nightmare overnight. There's a strange tension brewing at the resort, with relations between the hotel and the locals threatening to spill over into violence. This is nothing though compared to the strained atmosphere between the two families. They haven't been friends for long and they are starting to realise they don't really know each other at all.

After over a month of struggling to finish a book, LJ Ross has yet again saved me with a BRAND NEW and completely different story. No DCI Ryan you say? What about Dr Gregory? Alas lads, apart from a VERY SUPER AMAZING but very super tiny cameo from one of our loved characters, The Cove introduces a whole brood of new people to learn about and - obviously - adore. I found myself lost on this beautiful island as I read this book. It was beautifully descriptive and I could almost feel the salt on my skin while reading. (I think I need a seaside break – I haven’t seen the ocean in ages.) I loved the twists along the way.
