I relied on a GroEgg nursery thermometer until my kids were toddlers to help guide me on how to dress them for bed, especially in heatwaves. But these days I’m not too worried about having a temperature sensor in their bedroom. Those with younger kids may find the temperature sensor useful. Yoto Player (3rd generation) is a fantastic storytelling toy for kids with great improvements made to the sound quality, storage space and features. Night light (do note that it’s not a particularly bright one but does give off a gentle glow and you can control the colour via the Yoto App)
The Yoto Player Starter Set 3rd Generation is an innovative, connected, screen-free audio device that little ones can be fully in control of using physical smartcards (sold separately). The Yoto Player boasts an integrated battery, stereo sound, Bluetooth connectivity and three different play modes. We’ve owned a Yoto player for a couple of years now, and a Yoto Mini since last year, but recently Yoto released a new 3rd generation version of its original player which we knew we had to try. You might be wondering whether the new version is worth the extra investment and you can find out whether it is a little further down, but first, let’s look at why we love our Yoto players so much! Two of the features that have impressed me the most are the free daily audio content you get through Yoto. Once a Yoto Card has been inserted into your Yoto Player that content will be saved in your Yoto App “My Cards” Library.There are hundreds to choose from, with content to suit all ages! The range of Cards includes Roald Dahl and Beatrix Potter classics, as well as modern Marvel superhero adventure stories. A fun intro to common words in English, French, Spanish, German and Italian with accompanying images. There are a few additional features on the new Yoto as compared to the old, including a toothbrushing timer and a room thermometer. We don’t think we’ll use these much but they might be handy for some families! The new version of the Yoto also has slightly more storage capacity, at 32GB, but I doubt many families would need so much storage. Price
It is the in-house kids radio station you can listen to for free. Simply press twice the right-hand button on your Player to enjoy it! If you don’t have any blank Yoto Cards don’t worry! Just find the audio you want to play on the Yoto Player in the Yoto App and then select it to play. You don’t have to have a card to get audio playing in the Player! How to copy a Yoto Card The world is a playground, and music is the key. There's endless fun for everyone with these fresh takes on schoolyard classics. Yoto Cards are made from food-safe plastic, so they’re hard to bend and even harder to break. We don't recommend forcing them to bend, though. Your whole Yoto Card collection is saved in your Yoto App, so if you lose one, you’ll be able to link it to a new Make Your Own Card in seconds - simple! There are over 800 Yoto cards available to buy, along with ‘Make Your Own’ cards that allow you to record your own audio to play through the player. The children particularly love listening to stories recorded by their grandparents. On top of this, you can access a huge range of podcasts and radio stations through the Yoto app, including our favourite Yoto radio, and the Cbeebies station. 3.
