About this deal

This book tells the story of Olympian and world champion runner Sonia O’Sullivan, from Cobh, in Co Cork, all the way to the Olympic Games — a great read for sport-loving girls, or for any athletic child in your life. Set in a beautiful autumn forest, Logan is a rabbit who never leaves his tree. All the adventures his friend Luna goes on sound far too scary for him. But when Luna loses patience with him, he’s left feeling awful and wants to make things right. It’s time for him to be a little bit brave and face his fears... The book " A Little Bit Brave" is about a bunny who is terrified to gout outside or to go on adventures; but his friend loves to do all that kind of stuff. The friend got mad at him and so he built up the courage to go look for her, making him be brave and go on lots of adventures. Logan stays at his house. His friend, Luna, urges him to come outside with her and have adventures, but Logan is too scared. Luna gets frustrated with Logan and stomps off. Finally, Logan decides to do as Luna has suggested and be "a little bit brave." And so he goes outside. And what adventures he has.

A Little Bit Brave by Nicola Kinnear raises issues about bravery, adventures, and friendships. Luna the bunny tells Logan the bunny that sometimes he needs to be “a little bit brave” and leaves for outside. Even though Logan is very scared, he goes out to find Luna. Logan has to demonstrate bravery throughout the story as he goes on his adventure outside. This raises the question of what it means to be brave. Students can consider what bravery looks like and discuss if they have to feel brave to be brave. I like the book because Logan tries to be brave for his friend and even though he is scared he went to explore the world. I liked Logan because he overcomes his fear in the end. I also loved the illustrations because they are very colorful and felt very real. The books are about Sophie, a 12-year-old with a secret, and Fitz, a mysterious boy who appears in her life. They’re fantasy adventure and good for — according to my daughter — fans of Harry Potter and of The School for Good and Evil.” I have even talked the head into a little revamp of the library so that we can display them properly!

Logan is a stay-at-home bunny, introverted with the best of 'em. He likes baking an knitting and "indoor" fun. His friend Luna is the adventurous one, and they get into a disagreement about Logan never wanting to go outside. Logan decides he wants to make it up to Luna, so he goes outside to search for her. On the way to find her, he encounters lots of adventures.

Het konijntje is bang om naar buiten te gaan. Zijn vriendinnetje niet. Nu wil hij haar zoeken maar daarvoor moet hij wel naar buiten. Op avontuur. Hij beleefd de wildste avonturen en vindt het geweldig. Logan was a stay-at-home bunny....So whenever Luna said: 'Come out with me! It's fun!' Logan said, 'Oh, no. I'll never go outside. It's far too scary.'" Clearly Logan is a bunny living in 2020, and no one should give him any crap about not wanting to leave the house. It really IS far too scary. It’s about Bronte’s quest to carry out the instructions left to her in her parents’ will. There is magic, adventure, some tension, much humour, and a lot of fun. And, happily, there are also two other books by Jaclyn Moriarty, featuring some of the same characters — The Stolen Prince of Cloudburst, and The Slightly Alarming Tale of the Whispering Wars.”Any parent who struggles to find new reading material for kids will understand the joy of a substantial series.
