About this deal

This is a great compilation, like that friend who has a better record collection and deeper knowledge and range of music in his or her listening pallette. Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell go to album These tunes are mixed to the loving memory of my only brother Martin Neil Paterson 1950-2001 "NIHIL EST". Love moves human hearts, and no one gets out alive. To Orb live crew 2002, the m.a.p. & love to the world.

The featured artist then remixes those selections. These compilations often reveal the inspirations the artist draws from for their own work. Published by BMG Music Publishing / Rondor Music (ASCAP). Evelyn’s mix is also biographical in a sense as it has a deep connection to his Northern roots with Manchester’s Children of Zeus’ gorgeously soulful Fear of a Phat Planet opening the album helping the listener settle into the right state of mind and Hull’s Steve Cobby appearing twice, once under his own name and featuring Crazy P’s Danielle Moore on the upbeat and disco inflected Lefthanded Book, and under the moniker Chieftan which is a deep slice of electro-disco that is quite frankly irresistible.
