About this deal

I’d recommend booking accommodation in Gura Portitei before arriving there. The prices are pretty high, but you have to consider that this is a remote location. Also, you are not allowed to carry any food or drinks on the boat, and you will have to buy everything from the local restaurants. Plaja Mamaia is a long beach, and every 100 meters, you’ll find another beach bar with private sunbeds for rental. There are only a few free beaches in between, and everywhere else, you have to pay for a sunbed. Vama Veche was actually different and special… but like most things today, it became more and more popular over the years mostly because of the stories you heard about things happening there, so now many of the original Vamaiots (this is how the people going there were called) are complaining that things have changed. This is the luxurious version of what is today Vama Veche and those who used to love Vama Veche used to say that Mamaia is the worst place. I think you get the idea.

Ignoring the small tidal beaches of the Thames and Thorney Bay on Canvey Island (because it takes longer to reach by public transport), the closest beach to London for most residents is Southend-on-Sea, in Essex. You can basically walk on the beach to nearby Saturn to the South or Cap Aurora to the North and not really know that you’re not in Venus anymore… but that’s exactly part of the charm. The good thing is that you can skip the higher prices and the luxury amenities on the beach by going a bit up North to Mamaia Sat.Location: Google Maps link of the beach we usually visit. Things to know about the best beaches in Romania

This long and soft white sand beach is not only well known for its gorgeous scenery (the glittering sands stretch for a full 3km!), but also as the spot where local fishermen sell their fresh-from-the-net seafood each morning at the bustling markets. As the island’s seafood hub, it’s no surprise then that you’ll also find a number of beachfront barbecues dotted along the coastline, cooking up the day’s catch for your grazing pleasure as the sun sets. For a romantic seafood dinner, head to the bay before dark and choose your ocean treats from the never-ending displays to devour just a few minutes later. Or, if it’s sunshine you’re after, find a quiet spot beneath the shade enjoy the calm waters from dawn until dusk. Pro tip: it’s the perfect bay to cruise around on a stand-up paddle board! Data captured during the exercise included visual, infrared, sonar and radar as well as supporting ‘metadata’ including platform and sensor locations, weather, sea states and other contextual information. Eforie Nord has seen massive investments recently and as a result (combined with the lower prices) it was the most popular beach in Romania last year, taking the crown from Mamaia. So definitely one to keep an eye on! Caves: Peştera Sf. Ioan Casian, Peştera La Adam, Peştera Adăpostul Rândunelelor, Peştera Gura Dobrogei, Peştera Ghilingic, Peştera Mireasa, Peştera Cariera Nouă, Peştera Babei. Melasti Beach on Google Maps 22. Unfortunately, most people will avoid speaking the truth. At the same time, others will claim that these Romanian beaches are the place to be.
