Hey, I’m using the paper clay to add details to this paper mache mask that I’m working on, and I was wondering if I use recipe 3, could I use some of the paper clay, and store some in a close container for later use? or would doing this ruin the paper clay ? This paper mache clay pot above is made with recipe 1. It is a little more fragile to work with compared to the other 3 recipes. But it becomes quite strong after the paper clay dries completely. The “P” prefix by the grit number means this coated abrasive conforms to the FEPA grading system. What is water sandpaper? You will need 3 cups ( 400 to 500 grams) of squeezed but still damp paper pulp to make about 4 to 5 cups of paper mache clay. We will use this measurement in the recipes here. I am planning to do a paper mache activity with my elementary school art class. I only have this grade once a week, so I am wondering if there is a good way to preserve the paper mache so that I don’t need to make a new batch each week. Does one recipe “keep” better than others? I usually do it all at once, but you will need to make sure that it dries all the way through. A fan really helps. The problem with drying each layer at a time is that the wet paste of each new layer soaks into the dry layers underneath, so you still have a lot of wet layers at the end.
