About this deal

You'll have to plant marigold seeds each year because they're annuals. But they'll bloom all summer if you keep them deadheaded. Save some of the seeds at the end of the season, and use them to replant the next year. Perennials are ideal for winter sowing, as the fluctuation in winter temperatures with freezes and thaws will help to stratify perennial seeds. Most perennial plants don't bloom until their second year, spending their first season growing a strong root system and lots of leaves for photosynthesis. You can sometimes get around this waiting period by starting your perennial seeds in the fall and fooling the plants into thinking the following spring is "year two," but more often than not you'll just have to be patient. Flower initiation (week 1-3): The plant will continue to grow and females will develop pre-flowers—pistils, or white hairs, will grow out, which are the beginnings of buds. It’s important to know these stages and how long each lasts to know what the plant needs and when. Knowing where your cannabis plants are in their life cycles will dictate when to prune, train, and trellis your plants, and when to harvest. How long does it take to grow a marijuana plant?

Catnip is beneficial to the garden in many ways, attracting pollinators and beneficial insects, and deterring garden pests. The seed coat has tiny holes or pores through which water and air can enter. Like any living thing, the seed needs oxygen and releases carbon dioxide until the leaves grow, at which point it can produce oxygen. The soil must be porous for water and air to penetrate and reach the seed. Winter sowing is also an option since the catnip plant is perennial, and will benefit from a cold chill in the winter months, providing a natural stratification for the seeds.

The catnip blooms also have a lovely smell, and rubbing the flower head releases a pleasant minty fragrance. Depending upon when you sow your seeds, you will likely see your first dahlia flowers in mid-July to early August. Will dahlia seeds turn into tubers? A wooden garden trellis provides ideal support for sweet peas to flourish on. All the different holes give plenty of places for the plants to attach to ensuring they are well supported.
