Unfortunately, the user manual doesn’t really tell you much about the different settings and what they do. To give a little insight to what the different options mean, we’ve included a brief description below. Power Mode The Aegis X 200W mod is powered by dual 18650 batteries. Always ensure you only use ‘matched pairs’. Further understanding on married/matched batteries can be found in our Pairing Your Vape Batteries guide. Unscrew the Cerberus tank from the mod. Ensure your tank is empty of e-liquid before you try to disassemble the tank, otherwise you’ll have e-liquid spilling out. The Aegis X is fully loaded with features. Power (wattage) mode with the option of soft, normal and powerful pre-heat options. Temperature control mode which includes SS, NI200, TI and TCR. When in TCR mode you can adjust the temperature coefficient for any value you wish. There are also modes for Variable Power Curve (VPC) and Bypass.

Although the manual touches on the menu settings, it’s a bit vague to say the least and it didn’t come all that easy to me. I would recommend before first use having a good play with the different menus before you fit the tank.While using the supplied 0.2 ohm coil, I had no leaks or dry hits and have been using the coil for a week now with no loss of flavor. I was impressed with the flavor and vapor produced from this coil, definitely a thumbs up from me. Temperature Control Increasing the wattage to 40W certainly produced a harder hit improving the flavor and vapor no end. Two coils are supplied with the Aegis X 200W kit but unfortunately both are the same type, the Mesh X1 KA1 0.2 ohm coil. Geekvape specify the wattage for this coil is between 30W–90W, but best at 60W-80W. Interestingly, the Vaporesso GT CCELL, GT mesh and the Smok Baby coils will also fit this tank. Tweaking the airflow gave nice results and I found I preferred the airflow half open (or should that be half closed…?). The Aegis X will be a fantastic addition to your vape arsenal or the perfect mod for someone wanting to get in to sub ohm vaping. Selecting this option will automatically balance the levels of each of the batteries. It will draw more charge from the more powerful battery to self-level the two batteries together. Geekvape Cerberus Sub Ohm Tank | Performance Because the Aegis X 200W mod uses dual 18650 batteries, I really would only ever charge my batteries using an external charger. If you do wish to charge your batteries in the mod, at least Geekvape have included two-cell battery active balanced charging as a feature. The Cerberus sub ohm tank also comes color matched to the Aegis X mod. The e-liquid capacity of the Cerberus is 2ml (EU version), 4ml standard, or a 5.5ml bubble glass addition. After only a few months I got the dreaded “battery too low” error when nothing had happened to the mod at all. After filling and priming the coil with my favorite juice (Thug Juice – 50/50 at 3mg), I set the wattage to a pretty low 20W to allow the coil to slowly bed in. After a few draws with very minimal vapor and flavor, I increased the wattage to 25W. When on charge the display blanks after a few minutes so you wont know the status of the charge unless you press one of the control or fire buttons. Full charge should be reached in about 4-5hrs. Pressing any button should show the charge level of the batteries. Equally remove and reinsert the charge cable and the dual battery icon should appear with the level of charge. The other side houses the massive 2.4 inch colored OLED display. This screen is a beauty! Very clear and very crisp, it shows coil resistance, volts, amps, a puff counter, wattage or temperature and the battery status of each individual battery.

Hardly ever will a 18650 mod struggle with power delivery and this is the case with the Aegis X as well. Ramp-up time is near-instant and it will put out more power than you can realistically use; up to 200w. The Aegis X will even run down to 0.05 ohms if you’re crazy enough. Temperature control works with a little bit of fiddling, but the hit is consistent enough to call it decent. It’s by no means DNA Replay, but it will suffice. Unfortunately, the large screen does cause additional battery drain and it is very noticeable, so be sure to take that into account if the Aegis X will be your daily mod. Expect about half a day if you’re a chain vaper. Specs: Saying this, I have heard that some people have been reporting this condition on their Aegis X mod. Hopefully Geekvape take this on board and resolve this issue soon. When the Aegis X 200W mod is charging, it shows the dual batteries icon with a cycling scale, indicating the status of the batteries. The X keeps its dual 18650 battery compartment and some small styling details compared to the legend, but that's about it. The screen has had a huge update, with a crystal clear read out of your power, ohm and battery life. The AS chip set has been upgraded to get more battery life and an even faster ramp up time as well as the same TC, Bypass, Volt and Watt options you would expect to find on a modern device.From that menu, use the + or – buttons to select the options in that menu, i.e. different themes or different colors etc. The flavor sadly was not very pronounced and I was getting that new coil taste. It took a good tankful of e-liquid before that taste went and the flavor came through really crisp. A typical slide style box that we’re accustomed to see from china houses the Aegis X and bundled Cerberus tank. Inside the box, you’ll find a micro USB charging cable, a spare coil for your Cerberus, some o-rings and spares as well as some reading material. Fair warning, keep the manual, you’ll need it. I’ve been using my Geekvape Aegis X for well over a year and not had any issues with the dual battery level indicators. I use several different matched pairs of batteries and not seen this condition. The temperature range for this Geekvape is 200 to 600 degrees Fahrenheit. There are several output modes: powerful, standard, and soft modes. The 2.4 inch OLED color screen is one of the best in the industry, looking more like the screen of a smartphone than a vape.
