Overall, this is a good read. However, I find that some information are written redundantly all throughout the book, though the author might just want to reiterate to the readers that the facts presented here are based on researches done by fertility experts from all over the world; some proven and others are still under study. Still, I feel like it is unnecessary to repeat the similar information in almost every chapter when more examples or situations should have been added instead. There isn’t sufficient research support to recommend taking Pycnogenol, royal jelly, or L-arginine for fertility. The latest scientific research reveals that egg quality has a powerful impact on how long it takes to get pregnant and the risk of miscarriage. Poor egg quality is in fact the single most important cause of age-related infertility, recurrent miscarriage, and failed IVF cycles.I have not explored in great depth her research sources, so I can’t speak to the quality of her research review process. Most of her conclusions are consistent with other things I have read in my less-scientific gathering of information off the internet. She discusses the controversy around DHEA and concludes that arguments against its use are probably not warranted. I have come across enough cautions about its use and recommendations for medical monitoring of its affects, that I would personally recommend further exploration of the research and consultation with a medical practitioner if you choose to consider DHEA supplementation. I was told by my reproductive endocrinologist at 41 that I “could try” an egg collection round, but that I should start to plan on using donor eggs given my age, AMH, etc. I started to eat a lower carb diet, cut out caffeine, cut out alcohol, and started this intense supplements regimen. In 6 weeks my numbers improved by double!!...I got 19 eggs resulting in 6 day 5/6 embryos at 41 years old!
