About this deal

Being fanatical about this case, I’m glad I read this book. It’s fascinating to see Chris’s own words as to why he slaughtered his own family. That said, there are some major issues here— New and upcoming author Cheryln Cadle lives in the Midwest with her husband of 47 years, three children and their spouses, and eleven grandchildren. She loves to write, play golf, camp, and travel. Her most favorite pastime is spending time with her grandchildren. She loves true crime stories. Mrs. Cadle took advantage of Mr. Watts and willfully deceived a family in mourning over a still very recent and tragic loss," Shanann's family, the Rzuceks, explained in a written statement.

If you thought Netflix's American Murder: The Family Next Door was the most in-depth look into Chris Watts' horrendous crimes that's out there, we've got news for you. The convicted killer actually helped in the writing of a book all about killing his pregnant wife and two daughters, and it's already been published. Reviewer Bilal Qureshi adds: "It is a thematic film about marriage and the deception of social media, as well as a piercing examination of domestic violence constructed with care and undeniable craft." It’s such a shame as this could of been an extremely good read had more time and thought been put into it.A New York Times critic writes that "the film’s power rests in the British filmmaker Jenny Popplewell’s decision to eschew the traditional form of the televised crime documentary - the datelines, the dramatic narrator and emotional interviews - to construct a narrative entirely out of archival footage."

Kelly started a career in journalism after completing her education at The New School in New York City. She currently lives in Chicago. In her free time, Kelly can be found writing (duh), exploring her city, and frequenting a handful of coffee shops. She's an avid reader, music listener, and dog lover. Kelly's writing talents have landed her in a variety of positions, including her current job as a Culture Writer at Newsweek, as well as formerly interning at Rolling Stone Magazine and writing about music at Atwood Magazine. She also runs the blogJust Cut The Bullshitwhich is known for its mental health advocacy. Letters from Christopher is a true crime story with important information to put the pieces of the puzzle together for inquiring minds. Read herein the completely truthful account of what happened to Shanann, Bella, Celeste, and Nico Watts.I hope an experienced author or even a new one, but will take the time to research the facts, then don't allow the murderer to control and bamboozle you with his BULL-SHIP! Chris Watts with his wife Shanann and two young daughters Credit: Refer to Caption What did Chris Watts do? The only justification he offered for the senseless killings—and the hypothesis seemingly put forward in the Netflix documentary—is that he felt it was the only way to be with Nichol Kessinger, the colleague he had begun secretly dating only a few weeks before. "I knew if I took my hands off of her, she would still keep me from Nikki," he wrote. Elsewhere in the letters, admitting to Cadle that he slipped Oxycodone to Shan'ann, who was 15 weeks pregnant at the time of her death, in an attempt to cause her to miscarry, Chris wrote, "I thought it would be easier to be with Nichol if Shan'ann wasn't pregnant." SHARK HORROR Moment 13ft great white shark that mauled surfer to death is spotted Will Watts watch the Netflix documentary?

When Shanann had to be somewhere, I always enjoyed taking the girls places or playing outside because it was our opportunity to bond, and still the night before I couldn't stop myself from what I knew would occur the next morning."

Please do not waste your money on this book. There are other books about the Watts family murders that are more worthy of your time and your hard earned money. Setting aside the criticisms of the book, there are some serious bombshells in Letters From Christopher that aren't featured in the Netflix documentary American Murder. One, which made headlines in 2019, is that Watts claims he felt he'd killed his daughters "twice," since he apparently tried to suffocate them while at home, before he strangled Shanann. The Netflix documentary details how Watts actually killed his daughters at a second location, after he murdered Shanann. So, why am I disappointed in this book? Well, besides being full of typos and terrible grammar, it does NOT offer much in the way of new information. Basically, the author just took the information that has previously been reported and wrote it out in her own words. Words that are written with more grammatical errors than a grade one book report.
