I often give my hamsters two wheels in their enclosures. This allows them to choose which one they want to use and allows me to wash one while the other can still be available to them. The hamster wheel should have a sturdy design with a sturdy base to prevent it from tipping over. However, some designs are able to be attached to the bars of the cage. You should choose the most appropriate design for your hamster’s cage.Due to the popularity of this wheel it is sometimes sold out in certain sizes and colors. If you see the one you want, I suggest getting it!

This wheel comes in three different sizes, such as an which makes it suitable for all types of hamster. All that being said, I would not recommend this saucer style wheel as a replacement for an upright wheel. While many hamsters enjoy using this, I find, when I give them both the saucer and the upright wheel, they primarily use the upright wheel, but they seem to enjoy the variety of the saucer once in a while. However, this might be a good option for those of you with barred cages or limited access to other wheels. Size: The wheel interior diameter is 10.5”. Larger Syrian hamsters (like female Syrians) may need a larger wheel.Many people like cork linings because they are more gentle on their hamster’s feet. Cork linings can be more difficult to do thorough cleans of but it is not impossible! I wash with soap and water and let dry. I replace the cork lining as needed (and thankfully, Niteangel does sell cork replacements!)
