About this deal

The Making of the Last Generation (42:48) — The longest piece on the set is essentially a full documentary on the amazing production, writing and performances that went into the entire iconic final season (and not just the final episode). It includes some unique sound from people like writer-producers Jane Maggs, as well as associate visual effects supervisor Brian Tatosky, as well as some fun effects renders and an audition tape from Ed Speleers. A more introspective conversation between Matalas, Gates McFadden (Beverly Crusher) and Michelle Hurd (Raffi Musiker), with the highlights including McFadden discussing a line that was cut from her “20 years later” conversation with Picard that she believes helped to frame and support her difficult decision. (There is also a pretty funny reference to Star Trek executive John Van Citters that we won’t spoil here!) The Enterprise-A on display at the Starfleet starship museum. (Paramount Home Entertainment) Various small additions to the scene where Jean-Luc and Beverly talk about Vadic as she’s trapped in the forcefield. To be honest the only thing i truly loved in this season was seeing the Enterprise D again and having her get a better ending then the one in Generations. At the time, it was really the only place you could get into the nitty-gritty of what the production team and actors were thinking in bringing each particular season of the franchise to life. Now, however, with the proliferation of social media, iPhone videos and after-shows like The Ready Room with Wil Wheaton, the behind-the-scenes photos, graphics and stories permeating the internet have honestly made it difficult for the on-disc “extras” to provide any knowledge you haven’t already heard before — especially if you are one of the people that truly loves this type of behind-the-scenes content. Amanda Plummer discusses taking on the role of Vadic. (Paramount Home Entertainment)

Star Trek: Picard - The Complete Series Blu-ray Review: A

Picard: The Final Season Q&A (42 minutes) – This is the Paramount+ Emmy FYC (For Your Consideration) panel hosted by Scott Mantz that was recorded in Los Angeles in April just after the theatrical showing of the finale of season three. October 29, 2023 | Ensign Ro And Dr. Gillian Taylor To Return In ‘Deep Space Nine’ Prequel And TOS Movie Era Novels First, Paramount has revealed new 4K Ultra HD Steelbook editions of the Mission: Impossible films today. Look for Mission: Impossible and Mission: Impossible 2 on 6/27, followed by Mission: Impossible 3 and Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol on 7/4, and finally Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation and Mission: Impossible – Fallout on 7/11. You can see the Steelbook artwork for each below the break. The Gang’s All Here (19:06) – As you’d expect, this glossy interview piece gives each member of the returning Next Gen cast a few moments in the spotlight. Out of the 3 seasons i love S1 the most (It has a more thought out/better written story-line imo) with S3 as my 2nd favorite and S2 in 3rd place. Fans have been receiving their Star Trek: Picard – The Final Season disc sets and noticing that one of the visual effects shots is different than they remembered seeing on Paramount+. This has been the cause of some discussion and speculation but we have the real story. Different Flybys Unlike in previous seasons, quite a few of the deleted scenes included on this release are extremely relevant and would have added to an already strong season — forcing you to wonder in some cases why they weren’t included in the final episode edits. Worf (Michael Dorn) describes his recent past to Riker (Jonathan Frakes). (Paramount Home Entertainment)

Picard’ Season 3 Blu-ray/DVD Sets Have An ‘Star Trek: Picard’ Season 3 Blu-ray/DVD Sets Have An

Hidden in the menus of Disc 3 — press LEFT on your remote when highlighting “Rebuilding the Enterprise-D” on the features menu and a playing card will appear — showrunner and finale director Terry Matalas presents six minutes of improv and laughter as the Next Gen cast take an afternoon to play cards one last time as a united crew. FINAL THOUGHTS As Data surrenders his memories to Lore in their cyber realm, he hands Lore his painting of a raven (from TNG “Birthright”)Widely considered to be among the best seasons of Star Trek since the franchise returned to television in 2017 — and perhaps among the franchise’s best ever — the new Star Trek: Picard — Season 3 Blu-ray set is also the best of the series’ disc releases… but maybe not for the reasons you would expect. Deanna jumps into the conn seat, and Geordi says that Deanna has flown the Enterprise “exactly twice, and you crashed it both times.” Deanna retorts “Yeah well, third time’s the charm.” The Making Of The Last Generation: A terrific 43-minute exploration of the final season with the cast and creative team as they discuss the themes, the journey of the past couple of seasons leading to this point, the new and returning faces, the evolving character dynamics throughout the season, giving closure for these characters and to the fans, and more.

Star Trek: Picard - The Final Season Sets Course for Blu-ray

I bought this masterpiece on bluray steel book. I’m happy this wonderful season is now part of my collection. Was the season perfect? Nope, but it was pretty great along the way and felt like the kind of Trek I wanted to watch (and rewatch) each week. I would have liked to have had the connections between Vadic’s rogue Changelings and the Borg Queen’s goals more obvious. Amanda Plummer was electric on screen, but Vadic herself never quite gelled; it always felt like there was something more to the bird imagery theme for her and her crew, but it was never really clear. Also, like many people, I found the show’s lighting to be too dark: There’s so much detail in every set, but it’s hard to see. It really seemed like the Titan should have been lit at least a bit brighter. A previous version of this article incorrectly described the content in the “Rebuilding the Enterprise-D” feature. We regret the error. FX are great, very useful and can contribute to the overall enjoyment of a movie or episode but, for me they are not an important factor. I am 64 and grew up watching TOS with all it’s comparatively shoddy props & effects and dodgy analog TV reception. They didn’t matter. The props etc exist to prompt imaginative immersion inside my skull where I was happily viewing the show in a 3d view at resolutions thousands of times greater than the best HDR or 16k display.

PICARD Season 3 on Blu-ray Review — STAR TREK: PICARD Season 3 on Blu-ray

MANY thanks, Matt! I didn’t notice that and I appreciate the clarification. Blu-Ray quality is better of course but I like having DVDs that I can easily play on a computer or laptop. Extras: Language(s): English - United States, French-Parisian, German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish-Castilian, Hard of Hearing Subtitles: English, Subtitles: Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French-Parisian, German, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Spanish-Castilian, Swedish, Interactive Menu, 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio, Dolby Digital 5.1, Behind the Scenes, Bonus Footage, Commentary: Audio commentaries, Deleted Scenes, Documentaries: 'The Gang's All Here'; 'Villainous Vadic'; 'Rebuilding the Enterprise-D', Making of Documentary, Picard: The Final Season Q&A, Outtakes During Vadic’s monologue about the Starfleet genocide of the Changelings, Seven and Shaw listen in from the bridge. Seven (having been in the Delta Quadrant during the Dominion War) asks what she’s talking about, Shaw gives the cliff notes of what happened on DS9 with the Section 31 virus. The commentaries are lively and showcase the easy chemistry the cast and Terry have with each other. And here’s something interesting: The Disney Movie Club has just revealed new “Blu-ray + DVD + Digital” editions of the classic animated Peter Pan (1953) and The Sword and the Stone (1963). The former is branded as a 70th Anniversary Edition while the latter is a 60th Anniversary Edition. The covers for each are based upon the original theatrical poster artwork. And Peter Pan will apparently have a disc-based special feature that’s exclusive to the DMC release only, which is entitled In Walt’s Words: Peter Pan. Street date is apparently 6/13.
