Review: This book was WOW on the spice ya’ll!!! I didn’t really know what I was walking into. I read the prequel novella and LOVED it, but it did NOT prepare me for this lol. Seems like enough to fill a book, right? But it doesn’t stop there lol. Rachel starts treating another player on the team (Ilmari aka Mars) off the books so he can have a shot at the Finnish Olympics, and sparks fly AGAIN!! This girl is something else, right? 😂 This is my chance to prove myself, and I’m not risking it for anything. But with one unexpected night, one secret revealed, these men are ready to test all my limits. I can’t fall for a player…let alone three. But if love is a game, these guys are playing to win. I really liked Caleb. Such a bad boy. I felt like the group was complete with Jake, Caleb, and Rachel. Like, what more could you want? Caleb was super hot, and I liked seeing him dom. You can’t stop the bad things from happening—to yourself, to your brother, to any of us. I know because I’ve lived the same as you, trying to keep my life small. Two, same time Mars said he wanted to see how she is with the other two, and he didn't mean sex. But, then yup she let's Caleb touch her and wanted Mars to watch. Sure Mars contented but I feel Caleb came off too strong on him, and Rachel didn't even say anything. But, that's not the main thing though. Same scene extends to Jake joining them, and nobody asks Mars to consent whether or not he wants to watch. But, Caleb just goes on bossing them for more. She sighs. “So where does that leave Caleb?” “He’s mine.” The words come out on instinct, and I find there’s nothing left to be said. It’s the truth. Caleb Sanford is mine. I want him to be mine in all ways. But I’m afraid.”The story was flowing so easily I wanted to read it in one sitting. Rachel is a bit annoying at times but the men *THE MEN* are incredible. Jake is a sweetheart and I was worried about him at some point because he seems more invested than Rachel. Broken down and wounded by my emotionally neglectful ex, I wanted someone to tell me I was good enough.
As far as the leading lads go, Mars was my favourite. I felt like he fostered a more meaningful and careful connection with Rachel, whereas the other two have a lot to figure out between themselves and I think that Rachel, for want of a better phrase, ends up as more of a vehicle for them to connect. There were a few occasions where I felt a little uneasy about how Rachel was spoken about. But from her perspective, you’re not left in any doubt over whether she’s happy or not. She’s on board with what’s happening, and I guess that’s the important thing to note.Also, I get that this was instalove, but there were some moments where I wished there was some conversations at least, instead of just oh, she knows me, I know her. Like not all the time maybe. Because of course life always has a plan and her unforgettable mystery man is non other than the starting defenseman of the team !!
