With OFS the D90SE already sounds huge, feeding my Rega Brio-R and my Focal Chora 826s. Way more body and depth to everything. this dac can be used as "TV" dac, there is digital volume control - no issues basically with that right? I assume if you lose pilot your screwed? It automatically turns on and decodes whichever input is receiving a signal, and when it hasn’t received a signal for sixty seconds, it automatically turns off. This new Topping DAC says it supports full MQA decoding over all inputs incl coax. Have my Node 2i connected via coax and set to support an MQA External DAC. When I play MQA files via Tidal, the Node now shows the song as either "CD" or "HR" (vs "MQA") and the DAC displays PCM.

But, of course I still like to understand why it wont give me full MQA (but that boys and girls is a story for another time). Goals of this setup is to go more minimalist in use. My wife does not care for the AVR setup currently and gets frustrated with all the inputs that need to be juggled and I can't say I blame her. If you operate the volume without knowing this, it will cause serious troubles such as destroying the speaker. I immediately reported this issue to Topping. I hope it will be improved as soon as possible. I would make sure the Topping is in “Exclusive Mode” (under device setup in Roon for this DAC). Roon won’t do MQA without it. If your audio source is a downstream application with an MQA decoder, such as Tidal or Roon. The application may have a switch to disable the MQA decoder and passthrough the bitstream signal to your endpoint device.Super annoying needing two or three pieces of expensive gear these days, super keen on the RPi4 route.

Possible Setup: Turntable to Parks Puffin with COAX to E50, TV SPDIF to E50, Shield TV and HTPC to E50 with USB splitter?

Looks like topping DACs are not the only victim, saw another Cambridge Audio DacMagic 200M with similar situation.

Until now, I mainly used E30 and D10s D10 Balanced for DAC, but I bought the newly released E50 because it can also play MQA. When using USB input in pre-mode, the volume is suddenly maximized when the volume is lowered from -0.0 to the minimum value of -99. This symptom is the same for both balanced and unbalanced outputs. It is completely normal when inputting OPT/COAX.i agree tidal is my main streaming service and mqa is a must, regardless what people say. im confident ill have to buy another dac, because i cant keep dealing with this thing, and treat it in cottons for it to not pnl error me. thats not happening.
