Bring a horde of monstrous Tyranids to the battlefield and overwhelm your enemies with sheer weight of numbers in the Tyranid faction's new 9th edition starter set, Combat Patrol: Tyranids. So this is more of a niche choice, but he’s here because I’ve got a unit of 5 Tyranid Warriors so I’ve got one left over. Just ensure he’s obviously different, watch your opponent panic and get the rest of the army in. Seriously he’s just a Primaris Captain for the ‘Nids and they are ten a penny.The Combat Patrol is loaded with Tyranid models. 43 to be exact! And it’s mostly Core options, too. Mostly. To lead this new batch of baddies is the Hive Tyrant — who also happens to be on the new Tyranid Codex cover. Leading the force into battle is mighty Hive Tyrant.** This terrifying leader-beast is a literal combat monster, who can use insidious telepathic abilities to support the CORE units in your army – such as the Tyranid Warriors and Termagants that accompany it in the box. Clearly, all part of the Hive Mind’s design… Every self-respecting Hive Tyrant needs a swarm to command, and the Combat Patrol box provides you with a whopping 36 Termagants (plus three Ripper Swarms). Even the renowned tactician Roboute Guilliman has to concede that quantity has a quality all of its own.
