About this deal

I stumbled upon a review of the Casio Edifice EFV-110d (the baby brother) by The Slender Wrist and being a fan of the smaller timepiece thought i'd give it a go...well after much excitement ripping open the box, to my dismay was a watch that was just too small for my 7 inch wrists. The combination of sporty looks, thinness, tapering 18mm bracelet and 41mm lug to lug was just didnt look right, and I have happily worn 33mm vintage pieces before.

Free yourself to focus on life. Get an analog-digital combination timepiece with a 10-year battery you won’t have to worry about for ages. Always reliable: This watch has a particularly secure safety catch, which helps prevent the strap from opening by mistake. Within is the Casio Edifice EFV-110D. According to some outlets, this is a women’s or unisex watch, though most retailers do have this listed as a men’s watch. Personally, given the styling, I can’t imagine a woman wearing this despite the small size. The dial aesthetics are down to your personal preference. Personally, I’d say I prefer that MTS-100L, though not by much, both are very handsome watches. Obviously, that watch also has the sapphire crystal, which will inherently give you better scratch resistance than the mineral found in this watch. However, this watch has a better strap, or bracelet in this case. The case finishing is sharper and better too and the extra water resistance could certainly come in handy if you’re after a do-it all watch. Elapsed time, split time and final time are measured with 1/100-sec accuracy. The watch can measure times of up to 24 hours. Mine have had no trouble with condensation and my second hand hit the marks 100% of the time on both watches. The end links are male so it sits well because of the small watch size but would have been better with female end links

Bracelet is where pennies were pinched but with a 20mm lug width, the 100D looks great on a Milenese. The screw connection on the base of the housing optimally protects the inner workings of the watch and simultaneously provides easy access, when changing the battery for example. I'm contemplating to pull a trigger on Casio Edifice EFV-100. To be precise, the models are EFV-100L-7AVUEF and EFV-100D-1AVUEF. Polished finishing. Polish finishing by the hands of skilled craftsmen produces beautiful mirror surfaces on the forge-cast stainless-steel case. A luminous coating provides long-term illumination in the dark after only a short exposure to light. The EFV 100 is a great watch indeed. The best part is of course the beautiful case and dial, which looks like it belongs to a watch that costs four times more than what you pay for it. The seconds hand hits the markers like 80% of the time, and it is not as loud as one might expect. As it has already been said, the lume and bracelet are not that great. The lume doesn´t last more than a few minutes, and the bracelet feels cheap, jangly and wiggles a lot. It is usable though, but the watch itself deserves better.

I have owned the white dial 100D (40mm case) and currently own the white dial 110D (35mm case). I wore neither on the bracelet long, many natos and leather straps also both on Milanese bracelets with great success. Depending on your wrist size or how you like your watch cases, it might be worth sourcing the smaller 110D, as IMHO the EFV-100D in white wears pretty large for 40X47. (110D 35x44) The straps are usually the only bad thing about Edifice watches. The bracelets in particular are often tinny, rattly folded link jobs, but as long as they aren't integrated they're easy to change.

In the end I gave up on the bracelet and have mine on a phoenix grey NATO. I put that on about 3 months ago and haven't taken it off that strap since. I've read that bracelet of EFV-100D-1AVUEF isn't that simple, and the strap comes with EFV-100L-7AVUEF is appalling. This is a nonissue, as I'll probably rig them with zulu strap. If you look closely, you’ll also notice some microscopic engraved rings on the chapter ring. While on this smaller model, they are barely visible, it gives another indication of how much effort has clearly gone into this dial. The extra touches have not been forgotten. The logo is inked in the regular position. While I don’t mind how this looks, I think a single line of text with the image would probably look better. obviously, people tend to leave negative review in case of defetive product than receiving a good product) The hollow end links are not quite the right shape and overhang the lug tip by about a millimetre. This is not really noticeable on wrist but can be seen from the side. The little bits that hold the spring bar in place in the end link don’t allow the link to fit into the lug holes so I had to bend them slightly to get it to fit. This sounds worse than it was and it wasn’t difficult. There is a very slight gap of less than a mm between end link and the watch case it is tiny but there. Technical amendments and errors excepted. The sizes in figures do not correspond to the original sizes.
