About this deal

When his former partner Sampson shows up needing his help, Cross jumps at the chance, even if it may end up costing him what’s left of his career. When a string of young, blonde women go missing, the investigation leads Cross and Sampson to the most depraved, darkest corners of the internet, where murder is just another form of entertainment. Along Came a Spiderkiller Gary Soneji has been dead for over ten years. Alex Cross watched him die. But today, Cross saw him gun down his partner. Is Soneji alive? A ghost? Or something even more sinister? Detective Cross (2017) This time around brings some real sadness for John Sampson (no spoilers) so he may not play such a pivotal role within the crime investigation as per usual but his own story plays alongside.

A final comment, and also the reason I piped up (ad nauseum) in the first place; the tail end of the preceding article refers to Cross being “the ultimate heroine”. I guess I missed the gender identity crises that apparently plagued Alex Cross’ life throughout the series. I wonder how his public restroom visits while in North Carolina were played out? Wow, talk about a plot twist……(yes, this IS intended to be sarcasm!). Reply Kay had many enemies, but all of them seemed to need her alive. The harder the investigators push, the more resistance they find when they leave behind the polite law offices and doctors' quarters of the state capital. Alex Cross will need to use all his skills as a doctor, a detective, and a family man to prevent that resistance from turning lethal . . . again. As a reader you are drip fed information but you know that there’s always vital clues that Cross and his team know that you don’t. I found myself desperately wanting to know what was in the file or what someone had told them. How dare they know more than me!!! Everything is pursued very logically, there’s never a sense of “why would they do that” or something obvious being missed. You’re fed just enough information throughout to have you guessing what’s going to happen or who did it without ever being given enough that you can foretell the future of the story. Alex Cross, on his first case with the FBI, confronts a perplexing mystery that leaves his new colleagues bewildered. Across the nation, individuals are vanishing in broad daylight without a trace. Alex discerns that these abductions are not driven by ransom demands but rather involve a disturbing underground trade. The enigmatic figure known as the Wolf, a ruthless criminal who has unleashed a reign of terror in the world of organized crime, appears to be the puppeteer behind this operation. British diplomat Geoffrey Shafter is a man who never loses, he is prepared to play the game of games for the highest stakes of all.Alex Cross is the ultimate heroine!!! boy, I have gotten used to bad grammar and apostrophes in the wrong place but this is just too much. Also I think I remember there being used instead of their at the beginning of the revue. Lord help us!! Reply When a police officer is killed, Detective Alex Cross steps up to take command of his force who are scrambling for answers. As a brutal crime wave sweeps the region, an intriguing connection links these deadly scenes.

That’s a lot of things to investigate. I’ve got to say that in this story there’s more slowly evolving, hard grafting policework than elaborate psychological theories. These books offer a condensed and intense experience, allowing readers to enjoy a thrilling Alex Cross adventure in a shorter time frame. Cross Kill (2016) When Alex's former patient turns up dead, he sets out to investigate the mysterious circumstances surrounding her death. She is an ex-patient of his, and as the blurb speculates - maybe more? She was once a high flyer on the political scene, thanks to her marriage to the vice president and as a socialite and philanthropist, she lived her life in the spotlight. How has she ended up murdered? Alex must find out. The case takes a chilling turn as Cross discovers that two killers, operating in different parts of the country, are working together in a sinister collaboration. These twisted individuals are engaged in a disturbing competition to commit increasingly heinous crimes.Who could have brutally murdered them and why? The search for answers takes Alex and Ned to Kay’s hometown of Alabama. The multi-state Willingham investigation takes Alex and FBI’s Ned Mahoney to Alabama, where Kay is from. Just as Alex and Mahoney get closer to solving the murder of Kay, and Bree and John Sampson are making headway on the rape murder cases, someone starts shooting celebrities, politicians and rich people in the bum in DC. In the midst of it all, tragedy strikes close to Alex and his family. Alex Cross is called in as a consultant to the FBI when DC socialite Kay Willingham, former wife of the vice president and educator with political ambitions Randolph Christopher are found shot dead in her car. He is already consulting with Metro PD on the unsolved murders of a string of teenage girls and is feeling the stress of too much work, especially when he has to go to Alabama to further investigate Kay Willingham’s murder. As two prominent figures are found murdered Alex and his team must pull all their resources together to solve the crime, while also working on other cases at the same time. Ben Corbett is lawyer to the underprivileged and downtrodden in 1900s Washington, DC. Out of the blue, President Theodore Roosevelt invites Ben to the White House, asking him to investigate a resurgence of the Ku Klux Klan in Ben’s own home town.

In a world of trouble, corruption, and secrets, Cross is left facing a desperate choice between breaking a trust and losing his way . . . Maggie Rose is a little girl that has gone missing. Meanwhile, a family consisting of three people has been found murdered in the Washington, D.C. projects. Then there is the matter of a gorgeous teacher that was killed for what appears to be for the awful thrill of it. Could these cases all be linked?

Deadly Cross - James Patterson - 2020 Books - Review Of Deadly Cross - James Patterson - 2020

This is the first Alex Cross novel I have read. I have seen the two films, Kiss the Girls and Along came a Spider. I didn’t realise this was number 28, so I have a lot of books to look forward to reading. A very enjoyable read, lots of characters to get through. It was the first Alex Cross I read and loved it, reading it in one setting. It's gripping, fast paced and highly entertaining. Complex connections become apparent, keeping the reader guessing until the very end. A thoroughly enjoyable read, highly recommended. Alex Cross is preparing to resign from the Washington Police Force. He’s enjoying the feeling; not least because the Mastermind is now in prison. And Alex has met a woman, Jamilla Hughes, and he is talking about the future. Then John Sampson shows up at the house, desperate for Alex’s help. Three young military wives have been brutally killed during a ‘girls’ night out’ and Sampson’s friend, a master sergeant at the army base, stands accused. While there was a lot going on in this book, it never lost its pace and not did it confuse the reader. Another fantastic Alex Cross book!! It is really helpful to see a chronological listing of the Alex Cross novels. However, the mistakes in both grammar and spelling have casted a cloud of doubt over the writer’s attention to detail.
