The way this works is, people sin and they know they’re guilty, but they rationalize by thinking, “Yes, I was wrong; I shouldn’t have yelled at my wife. But she provoked me.” It’s like a scale, where I have a pile of guilt on one side, but rather than clearing it off the scale, I balance it by piling blame on the other side. One of my dear friends is grieving both the death of her mother and then her own husband within less than a 6-month period. We believe He created our first parents (Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 2:7). When we turn to the New Testament we find very clear statements about the creation in John 1:1-3; Colossians 1:16-17. These verses tell us how man was created; and the same God who created us is the One who sustains us, cares for us, watches over us and supplies our needs, and He asks, ““Where are you?””

If you’re not a Christian, if you’re not a follower of Jesus I want to be honest with you & tell you… I don’t know where you turn with your questions. I don’t know where you go to find answers to those questions that don’t have easy answers. What we want doesn’t always line up with God’s plan. God is all powerful, all knowing and ever present. Jesus hears your prayer; however, the answer is not always what you may want to hear. Jesus will answer your prayer. Jesus responded to Martha and Mary, but not according to their plans. At times, the answer might be yes to your prayer. Other times, the answer might be no as your prayer seems to go unanswered. And still other times, the answer might be not yet when he’s saying trust me, it’s not time, or simply wait. It is in this story that we learn the power of God over death. Jesus performs a miracle and raises Lazarus from the dead after four days.
