About this deal

Limited edition Kaweco Bronze Sport Pens and Pencils will darken and develop unique patinas over time. Available as ballpoint pens, fountain pens, gel pens, and mechanical pencils, these writing instruments are weighty yet well-balanced, perfect for those who prefer more substantial tools. Thanks for posting your opinion, it is always good to know, and the more opinions one can find, the better for making up one's mind. My first impression was that your poor ink flow was due to machining oils, I would have started by that first. Other than that, I agree that it is a substantial yet comfortable pen and it has a great design (IMHO much better than its clones). Mine has aged nicely, and I suspect it will still evolve its patina. That's another plus for me, the organic surface and that it is raw, not varnished as the clones gives -again IMHO- a distinctive feeling. I hope you like the patina yours may develop, but if you don't, you can always polish it. We can engrave any letter, number or character that can entered from a standard computer keyboard, in any language. This includes English, Arabic, Hebrew, Greek, Cyrillic etc.

Kaweco Brass Sport Ballpoint Pen - The Pen Company Kaweco Brass Sport Ballpoint Pen - The Pen Company

I knew the Kaweco would be much heavier than the other pens I have and was curious how I would like that. Also, I had noticed that several users/reviewers of the Kaweco Sport series pen had mentioned that the nibs are a bit hit or miss, some a great out of the box, others not so much. As the nibs are cheap and easily replaceable, I was willing to risk to get a bad one. Kaweco’s Brass Sport ballpoint pen is immediately recognizable with its characteristic octagonal shape, which was first introduced in 1935. It has the kind of charm that never goes out of style. The chunky yet elegant design is also practical, as the octagonal cross-section lets the pen sit flat on a table without rolling away. Weighing in at 34 grams, the ballpoint pen has a nice substantial feel in the hand and is comfortable to write with. It’s a push button retractable pen, featuring the Kaweco logo in metal on the button. The pen came loaded with the Kaweco Soul 1.0 ballpoint refill in blue but accepts any standard D1 size refills. Small and portable, the Kaweco Brass Sport fountain pen is ideal when you are always "on-the-go". Mirrored on the design of the Classic Sport, the Brass Sport combines durable solid brass with Kaweco's signature simplicity, ensuring this pen will never go out of style. The chunky octagonal profile and substantial weight gives this pen a presence in the hand, making it a real joy to hold. Over time the raw brass will weather creating a truly unique finish, individual to yourself and your pen usage. Key Features

Kaweco Dia 2

Kaweco have been manufacturing pens and pencils in Germany since 1883. In the 1930s Kaweco created the Sport line of chunky hexagonal pens which became an enduring classic. The Kaweco brand is now in the hands of passionate pen people H & M Gutberlet and goes from strength to strength. The portable ballpoint pen pairs the Kaweco’s octagonal shape with a retractable mechanism. The pre-installed refill contains blue ink. While it’s perfectly serviceable, we recommend substituting it with a higher quality D1 size refill for a smoother and more consistent writing experience. Kaweco makes special cases and pouches that perfectly fit Sport pens and pencils. They’re ideal for carrying your pens around and protecting them from scratches.

The Kaweco Ebonit Sport is made from ebonite, one of the most popular materials for making fountain pens in the pre-plastic days of the early 20th century. Ebonite is a type of natural rubber, and it has a warm, luxurious feel in the hand unlike any other material. Sorry! I meant the Chinese pen maker's lacquer pen with the butterflies and inlays from the previous link. The AL Sport is made of aluminum, a sturdy metal that is lighter than metals like brass or steel. Most AL Sports have matte, anodized finishes that won’t chip or flake, but they can still be gouged by other objects like house keys. It looks really good. On your last photo it looks quite shiny. Is there some sort of lacquer on the push knob? Now the pen writes really lovely and I am very happy with owning it. I like the feel when having it in my hand and how it writes so nice and smooth on the different papers I tried. It feels like I could write very comfortable with it for hours, something I had not expected. The Toyama Teal has a dark blue body with an iridescent finish. It’s inspired by the coastline of Toyama, Japan, where bioluminescent squid gather during spring nights and illuminate the water. the joy of an inexpensive pen with a broad or stub nib: shimmering inks, sheening inks, no fear of ruining something super collectable/rare/vintage The Collection Sport in Iguana Blue features a teal aluminum body and gold-colored nib and accents.
