About this deal

But, XY resolution (pixel size) and the PPI (how many pixels you get per inch) give us a metric to compare resin 3D printers against each other. Later on I will provide a table with specs on the Mars 3’s and how well they compare to the competition in various specs.

The Elegoo Mars 3 Pro toolkit includes a pretty standard array of accessories that many other Elegoo resin printers ship with, including tools such as the diagonal cutters for support removal, as well as the metal and plastic spatulas.

Integrated Air Purifier

As an example, while the old Elegoo Saturn S had the same screen resolution, it had a pixel size 51 of microns and a PPI of 531. This is because the screen on the Saturn S is a 9.1″ and not 6.6″. So the larger the screen/build area is, the better the screen has to be to output the same quality as smaller screen. Funnily enough, the old Mars 1 has roughly the same PPI and pixel size as the Saturn S, but one is a 2k and the other is a 4k screen.

The Elegoo Mars 3 Pro 4K Resin 3D Printer has a plug-in activated carbon filter to reduce the unpleasant odor that comes with some resin materials. The metal spatula is for helping to remove your prints from the build plate, and you will want to be somewhat careful while doing so, as it can potentially gouge or scuff the metal surface. However, in my experience, this has never really been anything other than a cosmetic issue. The soft spatula is used more as a tool for cleanup, such as assisting with removal of any residual resin out of the resin tank when it is emptied. If you think the build plate is too small, I think you should get the Saturn 2 instead. If you feel like the detail is not on the level you would like, get either the Phrozen 8k Mini or Anycubics DLP D2 printer. Is the Mars 3 Pro and non-pro worth it? So yeah, if you own a printer (with a mono screen) that you are happy with, I think upgrading to get more detail is unlikely to be worth it. Although Mars 3 was very well-liked when it was first released, we’re not sure if it has been able to stand the test of time. Competitors have since then released better, and more advanced alternatives compared to the Mars 3. Perhaps that is one reason why Elegoo felt it important to release an improved version – the Mars 3 Pro.

the machine, the update file .LCD will be updated automatically, after the successful update there will be a beeping sound and restart the machine A new, powerful COB light source has been stowed under the monochrome screen. To counteract unwanted heat generation, the Mars 3 has a new and improved heat sink system that keeps the inside of the printer at an optimal temperature and contributes to the general longevity of the printer.

Review Summary and Pros & Cons

Unofficial suggestions for most brands resin on ELEGOO Mars Seires Printers (Contributed by our community members): After printing, the model will still likely have some leftover resin on it, and to get a resin print to look its best, you will want to clean it. The Elegoo Mars 3 Pro is an amazing printer. It cuts costs in the places where it does not impact the performance or detail of the print. The size of the printing area is very acceptable for printing miniatures and models. The screen has enough quality that the “next tier” of printers will likely not make a big difference in visual quality for most people. I paid the extra bought one of these and it's EFFING amazing. Phrozen Onyx pro 410 resin is awesome So now you know as much as I know. It seems nice, but is better than competitors? No clue. Stability of the printer
