When Michael Jordan was a famous basketball player Jordan said “I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.” Michael fails a lot of times in his life and he didn’t give up and tried and tried again and was successful in life. He lost lots of games that were very important and didn’t have up and was successful the second time around. i didnt dislike anything in this book because there were so many things that related to me on how he loves a sport so much and how he wanted to be successful at it and it gave me more and more ideas on how i can keep loving the game i love. The depth of the book becomes pretty shallow in Jordan's later years, however. His divorce is mentioned almost as an afterthought. One never gets the full sense of Jordan's philandering, but there are stories of games of pool in topless bars, all-day golf excursions, and plenty of fine cigars and booze to fill the time. Lazenby makes MJ's playing for the Wizards seem like a benevolent deed, not something Jordan did because he couldn't succeed at anything else and his ego just wouldn't let his position within the game go. The book is fairly critical of his time as "The Loser" as owner of the team with the worst single-season record in league history. In some cases, perhaps Jordan is reaping bad karma from having been so critical of Krause and Reinsdorf and holding grudges when they traded his friends or made other necessary business decisions.

I started reading this book 2 years ago when my sister bought it from a library in Virginia. When my sister stopped reading it, she put it away and I decided to read it. I was interested in this book because I thought that Michael Jordan was the best basketball player of all time, and he still is. I’m interest in his shoes and in his life that he made before him finished his career. Michael Jordan’s book describes his life from the beginning to the end of this career and he made many great quotes in this book. Many people often ask if Is Almond Milk Good for Weight Loss? Also has some good motivational tidbits from MJ which can be used in everyday life, not just basketball/basketball shoe design (which is the premise of this book) And while Lazenby doesn't make Jordan into the most likable character, at times, you never get the sense that he was trying to paint a negative portrait of the former NBA star. If anything, you gained a better understanding of the man behind the legend, and walked away from the book feeling as if you finally understood the why's of it all.
