I don’t care if this gets downvoted but I saw the recent post from a straight person saying we’re loved etc and the comments were appalling. In a human rights context, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people face both common and distinct challenges. Intersex people (those born with atypical sex characteristics) suffer some of the same kinds of human rights violations as lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender, people. They also face institutional violence within healthcare systems, with lifelong consequences to their physical and psychological health. If someone posts or comments something you don't like, post a comment explaining why, or scroll past it. Could they have worded things better? Absolutely but like…they’re 14. I know at that age I couldn’t articulate myself as well and I’m sure a lot of us were the same. If you have a basic question, try r/asktransgender.identified as non-binary, an umbrella term for those who do not identify as exclusively male or female. Part of this is the fact of the "new" thing called neopronouns. They/him/her. Pronouns are not neo and anything outside this norm i feel make fun of our community as a whole and invalidates us. Everyone here needs to be able to discuss without being dragged to political conversations about Tories or Labour or Brexit etc. If it's not related to transgender issues by a fairly direct route it might be against the rules.
