About this deal

A preload adjusting plug in the base of the seatpost tunes the suspension. Numbers one to five are printed within its thread pitch and relate to rider weight and the spring(s). Turn the preload plug to the required position and fit the post.

Alternate method: Use a fabric or paper measuring tape (or print one at https://printable-ruler.net/ ) and measure the circumference of the steerer tube. You will need to remove the compression cap and loosen the two pinch bolts to get access to your steerer tube so be sure you are comfortable in doing so and then reassembling properly. Best method: Use a pair of calipers to directly measure the diameter or take your bike to the local bike shop and they will be able to measure it for you. At the core of the design are two elastomers that give the ICS MTT its suspension by pivoting on the oversized axle at the base of the stem’s extension.

Genetic STV Stem 90mm

This confirms the difference in effective travel, which is claimed to be 20mm on drop bars when holding the hoods and 10mm on flat bars. Not sure what size seatpost you have currently? There are a couple different ways to find out.• Most seatposts have the diameter printed somewhere near the bottom of the post. You'll need to remove the seatpost from the bike frame (mark your existing seatpost height with a bit of tape before you remove it so you can replace it easily), and look for a number like 27.2, 30.9, or 31.6 (etc.). That is the diameter of the post. Elastomers (2 pre-installed, 3 additional) to customise the ride feel for your bike, weight, and riding style

I found it a little on the spongy side, and it bottomed out easily which soon became annoying. A lot of this I put down to the fact that I have quite a large drop from my saddle to the handlebar, which puts extra weight on my wrists. During much of the test period I was riding 50mm carbon aero wheels with 25mm tubeless tyres – a rather radical departure from my usual 24mm alloy rims and 28mm tubeless. How does it feel? Performance Cycling Limited 2023. Tredz is a trading name of Performance Cycling Limited. All Rights Reserved if you want that softer ride, I wouldn't waste time with a flexstem reinvented, I'd look at short travel front forks. Or just fatter tyres at a lower pressure, which, as the reviewer points out, smooth things out too When braking hard on steep, rough descents the suspension effect lets you keep a firmer grip on the levers, which is a big bonus.

Take control - customizing your suspension feel to float over obstacles so you can maintain control Stem Details: As a person who has dealt with hand numbness due to bad technique, this would be a nice layer of protection. mm is common on older road bikes with drop handlebars. - There are other less common sizes that we do not provide shims for. Warming to a theme here (& it's a bit warmer than the weather), I found an academic paper (pdf) comparing a Redshift, a TranzX and a standard aluminium stem here: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.mdpi.co... JamesWalker - I too have one on a Orro Terra C, it has did me proud on the Dirty Reiver and Yorkshire True Grit. Redshift Sports says: "An adjustable-stiffness suspension stem that smooths out your ride that's perfect for performance cyclists, recreational riders, and commuters. From 80 through to 120mm in ten-millimetre increments and with the option for integrated tech mount out front, the stem is available for many different tastes and fits. It can feel a little weird at first until you get used to the movement, but it soon becomes normal, and with the firmer spring rate there is minimal 'bob' when riding on smooth tarmac or when you are out of the saddle.

Redshift suggests that riders up to 80kg should only use the main spring and those from 90kg to 110kg must install the inner spring as well. With the main spring fitted, my unit weighed 538g.

At road.cc every product is thoroughly tested for as long as it takes to get a proper insight into how well it works. One of the most impressive parts of the stem is how it doesn’t bob up and down under normal riding conditions or even standing and climbing! Every time I tried to hate the stem it showed me how well it performed.
