I could be wrong, but I feel like Meatbun might have a slight problem: she goes a little too extreme. I love how extreme she is, she’s not afraid to get her characters emotional, but sometimes, it’s a little too emotional. Rather than feeling the angst, I just start feeling awkward. Furthermore, she has the characters sometimes just do some uncharacteristic things that are just so bizarre it kind of takes me out of the reading experience. Seven Seas Licenses Three Chinese Danmei Novel Series: GUARDIAN: ZHEN HUN and STARS OF CHAOS: SHA PO LANG by priest, and Meng Xi Shi's THOUSAND AUTUMNS: QIAN QIU Come, brother, let your Gu Mang-gege teach you a lesson—eat more apples, they’re good for cooling, drop the blade and learn redemption.” I love that the reader is introduced to the fantasy world with relatively little expositional-onboarding. It works really well with an established and competent adult protagonist. He knows how his world works and how to navigate the politics, and so the things that he accepts as normal, the reader does too. I also appreciated how the self-indulgent younger character introduced earlier on (not usually my favorite character type) became the sensible comic relief character as things progressed and how the main character felt a bit of responsibility to mentor him. tengo hasta miedo de escribir una reseña, en estos momentos desearía ser buena escribiendo porque yu wu se lo merece sniff sniffA country should be guarded by its owners. Noble gongzi Xihe-jun, I’m begging you, I beg you to stop meddling, let this branch of laughable troop collapse and fall apart. We’d rather a bad life than a good death.” Slowly, the sea of blood was no longer blood. The scarlet swallowing the Nine Provinces became flowing water that nourished the land. His relationship with Mo Xi was so soft- the head pats, the forehead kisses, the way he calls Mo Xi his "princess", the way all they wanted a home together bye I want what they have minus the angst No, no, no. I want you to see the legendary ‘chaste yet aloof, reserved yet courteous’ Xihe-jun with your own eyes!”

Other than the intense angst that is this entire story, I really didn't feel connected to the story or the characters. I think my 2 main emotions throughout were anger and frustration - both directed *mostly* to Mo Xi and all the other nobles who dared opened their mouths. Sharply, he spoke: “Who is it?” El final es feliz pero lo que pasa alrededor deja un sabor amargo. Tiene extras pero son una historia en un universo alterno que no modifica la trama principal. Aiya, never mind. I have so much blood on my hands, how could the honorable and noble Xihe-jun be wiling to eat anything I’ve cut. Why don't you do it yourself.”Don't worry, even if you're no longer a noble young master, you'll always be you. There's an ember in your heart, and sooner or later, it will glow. I can see it, and others will too.” THE TOUCH OF A HAND, A ROLL OF THE DICE Xie Lian has confirmed that the bewitching youth San Lang is actually Hua Cheng, one of the Four Calamities and a supreme ghost despised by all heavenly officials. Still, he has trouble matching the terror of his companion’s reputation with the charming, clever, and protective young man he’s come to know. When a distress signal leads Xie Lian into Ghost City, a bustling metropolis containing all the horrors and delights of the dead, he sees Hua Cheng in his element—and his true form—for the first time. But despite their chemistry and care for one another, there are missions to fulfill and secrets to uncover, and Xie Lian’s centuries of troubled history are never far behind. Noble-born Mo Xi is the foremost general of Chonghua, known for his ruthless temper and ascetic air. Once he was one of two promising young commanders, twin stars of the empire. His comrade, the lowborn Gu Mang, was Mo Xi’s brother-in-arms, best friend, and—secretly—his lover, until the day Gu Mang turned traitor and joined the ranks of their nation’s greatest enemy. Light was something you gave me; warmth was something you brought me. All the blood that races through my heart is because of you. Without you, I wouldn't have made it to today.” He deeply cares about his comrades and remembers all their birthdays. Between battles, he would often take them to enjoy themselves in nearby villages and exchange anything he had to fill their stomachs and please them with wine, sometimes shamelessly using his charms to get them more beef if he ran out of things to pawn off. [1] Gu Mang made a promise to his army that he will bring them home, dead or alive. For that reason, he begged the emperor to identify the bodies of his dead soldiers, instead of putting them in a mass grave. Despite his efforts, the emperor didn't agree because of the soldier's low status. He wished slaves could live as an equal to the nobles of Chonghua, with dignity, despite the strictly drawn lines of hierarchy among them. He hoped that in the future more countries will allow lowly born people to cultivate and succeed. [7]

The book starts in a roundabout way and takes a moment to get going. It follows mostly Mo Xi who is desperate to find the truth about Gu Mang and have a closure, only to be denied. Making his task more difficult is his need to keep everything secret. Gay relationships are frowned at in general and making matters worse is that Gu Mang is a slave. Mo Xi is a determined person who is perceived as cold and pure, but the reader is shown a passionate, angry, and highly compassionate man. He knows he should hate Gu Mang, but he can’t help trying to save him. I was less enamored with Mo Xi's repetition of "I obviously hate Gu Mang and just want to see him suffer, so why do I feel like this??" Once was fine, but beyond that just felt a little like...eh, we've been here already haven't we? (Also it was a bit Mo Ran-ish...but probably without the benefit of the Long Hatred Flower.) I'm scared this will be too problematic for me but I want a book that's more painful than my essay assignments and this looks like it delivers. I've heard this is angst central over here Just in case, if you are interested, this story takes place years, maybe centurie -well nobody is certain cause is a lot of time!- before the events of "The husky and his white cat shizun" so it's set in the same universe, but YuWu events or story line are prior of what happens with the story of Chu Wanning and Mo Ran, so sorry to dissapoint they dont get to interact. However I highly recommend to read first " the husky" so when you read this one, you will find some easter eggs and have a better reading experience ofc! but if you dont do it, thats okay it doesnt matter that much, 💓👋 Seven Seas is releasing the Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation manhua/comic as well, with multiple volumes already available. One last note: I know I shouldn’t compare this to 2Ha, but I’m going to do it anyway! Out of the two books, 2Ha definitely has a much more significant impact, because it goes from some of the most wholesome things you’ve ever seen to really dark shit that leaves you reeling from how extreme it is, whereas Yuwu starts of dark and heavy, and remains dark and heavy till the end. 2Ha is also a lot more humorous, and as someone who loves humor, I really appreciated that. However, Meatbun definitely learned a lot from 2Ha. Yuwu is much better written, a lot easier to follow, and I wasn’t exhausted when I finished the book. Everything was still really extreme and if you’re looking for angst, you’re definitely gonna get it, but it didn’t leave me smashing my kindle into the wall out of frustration and exhaustion and rage, so that was really good too. Tsk tsk, such a hard-working shidi. Truly, the newer generations surpass the old, waves of the Yangtze River surpass the old, each generation more prone to making waves than the one that came before.” Yes! Now Gu Mang has been returned to the empire a ruined man, a shadow of the military genius he once was. The public clamors for his death, and no one yearns for vengeance more than Mo Xi. Or so he thought—for faced once more with his bitterest enemy, Mo Xi is left with more questions than answers. Why did the man he loved betray him? And what secrets hide behind Gu Mang’s tortured eyes? When Gu Mang lost his memories and had his spiritual core shattered, he also lost two souls which affects his memory and mind. He doesn't remember who he is, and according to the healers' diagnosis, he sees himself as a strong and mighty wolf. Following his return to Chonghua, he didn't know how to speak, and even after working with a trainer for two years, he still can't understand many complex words. [8]You have an intense desire for dominance and a hunger for control, you crave taking by force all that you’ve chosen to want... generally has a more positive tone to it, especially in the earlier part, where Mo Ran feels happy and relieved for getting a chance to relive his life. The 2ha cast even has a chance to go on a couple of abventures before all the mind-blowing stuff starts happening.
