About this deal

by my mixer to sort out those awkward "where did the signal go" moments during bouts of finger trouble or when The miniDSP Flex is the 3rd generation of our popular line of compact 2-in, 4-out audio processors. It retains the powerful floating point processor but rethinks the I/O architecture so we can provide our customers with different input-output versions in this compact chassis. The initial versions are single-ended analog I/O (RCA), balanced analog I/O (TRS) and digital out with superb audiophile specification for your enjoyment. The difference in quality between TRS and XLR will depend on application. If you are forcing an unbalanced signal in to a balanced input, there will absolutely be quality loss. If you are forcing an impedance mismatch with a difference in line level then you will also have severe quality implications. If you are moving between different forms of balanced signals, it shouldn't matter significantly. If you are using a board that uses send/return over XLR, then going to a TRS instead won't have a major impact. Whether you are recording or creating music, you want a clear and crisp sound quality. While many factors can influence sound quality, your choice of audio cable has a drastic impact on your audio project quality. The main benefit of using an XLR balanced cable is its high sound quality compared to other types of plugs. With an XLR connection, the noise gets reduced, and sound quality is improved because each balanced signal travels through two wires instead of just one. TRS to TRS vs TRS to XLR Connections: Which Is Best for Your Needs?

If you’re a creator, there’s a good chance you use multiple microphones to record with multiple devices in a wide variety of scenarios. This may mean the cable that came with your microphone doesn’t quite do the job in every scenario you need it to – either it’s not the right length, or the connection type is wrong for your recording device. Thankfully, we offer a range of high-quality cables and adaptors to suit a wide variety of applications. The miniDSP Flex will find a myriad uses in applications ranging from a compact digital stereo preamp through subwoofer integration and optimization to active speakers, home theater and recording studios. You just need to let your creativity do the rest! Hardware FeaturesAssuming that the same type of cable is used with either configuration, there will be no sound quality difference. The "proper" way to do this, as you asked, is to use an audio transformer per channel. Pricey though. XLR cables are typically used for professional applications, such as live sound and recording in studios. They’re also used to connect microphones and other equipment that requires balanced connections. The SC16 is a 300mm-long USB-C to USB-C cable designed to connect RØDE microphones with a USB-C output to USB-C compatible devices. SC17 – USB-C to USB-C Cable (1.5m) The SC19 is a 1.5m-long Lightning Accessory Cable (USB-C to Lightning) designed to connect MFi-certified USB-C microphones to iOS devices. SC20 – USB-C to USB-A for Wireless GO II (Not Available Separately)

Although TRS and XLR don’t differ that much from each other as far as sound quality is concerned, there are many situations when XLR cables are a more favorable choice. NOTE: The UMIK-1/2 are measurement microphones approved by Dirac Research. Knowing the major effect a wrong calibration/measurement would have on the final results of Dirac Live tuning, we strongly recommend that you select a UMIK-1/2 microphone together with your platform for a plug&play experience leading to best results. Any issues related to 3rd party microphones such as ASIO/USB audio driver incompatibility/Latency problems or incorrect calibration process will not be under our support structure by our support team. Understanding LDAC™ Wireless audioExpensive. XLR cable costs more than TRS cable. Sure, there are cheap XLR cables but they don’t last very long as they are low quality. It will not be cost-effective to keep buying cheap XLR cables.
