About this deal

If you’re looking to build a linking kit or attach some hose to your tank or water butt, this Hose Tail is also suitable for use with our 20mm I.D. / 25mm O.D. Extension Hose. Ive only marked it poor as it wasn't long enough so i had to buy a longer one, would be an idea to offer different lengths As shown in the image below the Hose Tail can be placed through a pre-drilled connection point with an inside diameter of 20mm: Once you have pushed the hose tail through the connection point, the washer and nut can be screwed on from the inside as shown in the image below:

I use the tap to join a hose to the next waterbutt so that they maintain level. I don't care how slow that is, by "tomorrow" they will all have the same level again. Head" is not very much - the height of the water level in the butt. Maybe 3'? That's not enough to provide much pressure. A loss/replacement can only be pursued in line with the target delivery times of the courier or once the courier accept loss. The outlet of the hose (nozzle end) would have to be below the inlet (where it's attached to the butt) for any water to come out. You're using a gravity feed siphoning effect and there can't be enough pressure to bring the water out.

How long does it take to fill a 10L watering can if you put it under the tap - a minute? more perhaps? On a similar basis - you usually have a header tank in your loft for you to have enough water pressure (gravity drop) to feed a shower - unless you have a pump on it.

This Hose Tail has an outside diameter (O.D.) of 20mm, making it suitable for use with a water butt or tank that has a connection point with a 20mm inside diameter (I.D.). Our Water Butt pipework is a UV resistant Polypropylene pipe which is ideal for use with garden water butts. This pipework has an internal diameter of 26.5mm and an external diameter of 32mm, this makes it perfect for water butt connectors and taps. Most water butts are supplied with a stand and can be placed on the ground in the corner of the garden. However, some water butts can be mounted on an external wall, a good option for smaller gardens where ground space is precious. You can also run guttering from a shed roof into a water butt as an efficient way to harvest rainwater – if you don't have one in your garden, you might find our comprehensive guide to the best garden sheds useful. The hose. 1/2" - given the low flow rate from the tap, and low "Head", the frictional loses on 25M of hose will be considerable. Repeat the watering can filling test, but using the full length of the hose (already primed). Put the watering can in the original position (under the tap) but fill it from the end of the hose instead. Presumably that is even slower than when filled from the tap direct? As well as being compatible with our Gutter Mate Diverter & Filter, this White Extension Hose 20mm I.D. / 25mm O.D. (Per Meter) will help with a range of water butt arrangements.
