About this deal

This is where it all comes together – literally! If you’re prepared and have got the right tools, then punctures might be a little frustrating but won’t ruin your day out. That being said, the nominal measurement shouldn’t impact whether or not a tire fits your wheel. If you have a bike that comes with 700x32c tires, then you can be comfortable getting new tires that are the same size, even if they’re a different brand.

This is a common way for bike tube sizing to be listed. If you see a tube designation written this way, it means it can be used in any tires within 35mm-43mm wide. The 700 refers to the diameter of the wheel, so that number is firm depending on your rims. Just as a 700C wheel is the same diameter as a 29” (29er) wheel, 650B shares the exact same rim diameter as 27.5”. 27.5”/650B rims have a bead seat diameter of 584mm, and 29”/700C rims have a bead seat diameter of 622mm. Choosing the best inner tubes is a surprisingly cheap way to improve some aspect of your bike's performance, be it speed or reliability. If all that matters to you is going fast, the best inner tubes — and the choice of fast riders for many decades —are made from natural latex rubber, but read on: they have downsides. Tyre maker Challenge cautions against the use of latex inner tubes with carbon fibre rims. It says: “Carbon rims do not dissipate heat as well as aluminium and prolonged braking, such as on long descents, may lead to hot spots along the braking surface. This increased heat can damage the latex material leading to a failure.” Puncture resistance

ISO size 622) is actually the same rim diameter as 700C, although most 29″ tires will not fit 700C road rims because they’re too wide. 700C (ISO size 622) is the most commonly used size for modern road bikes. What does 700cc bike mean? is the size of your bike tire, according to the ‘French system’. The “700” number is the stated diameter of the bicycle tire in millimeters. “c” is the width code of the tire (as you would see if you looked at your bike from behind or in front). So, a “c” tire was almost as wide as these would get. Is 27.5 and 700c the same?

Most 700c wheels can be interchangeable because the diameter of the wheel is the same. In other words, if a 700 fit on your bike in the past, it’s going to continue to fit on your bike in the future. The limiting factor is whether or not your bike can fit different tire widths. A lot of road bikes are set up with limited tire clearance, making it difficult to swap out for wider tires. This is the reason why you see inner tubes listed with one number for the diameter and a range for the width, e.g. “26 x 1.75-2.25”. So, this tube would be fine to use with tires of between 26×1.75” all the way to tires of 26×2.25”. Inner tube valves Yep, a standard 700C tube will fit a 27″ tire (and most tube boxes bear multiple markings to indicate this). Just convert the inch width to mm to get the width of the 700C tube, if the box doesn’t say the inch size. Is 622 the same as 700C? If you’re not aiming for everyday riding puncture prevention, then a weight reduction is nice to have. A typical inexpensive inner tube — like the ones your bike probably came with — weighs 100-110g; Continental’s Supersonic tube weighs 55g (all weights for inner tubes with 60mm valves).Generally speaking, yes, a 700x32c can be used as a replacement for a 700x35c tire. The wheel diameter itself (700mm) isn’t changing, but the width of it will be. You can choose to increase or decrease the width of your tires depending on what kind of riding you want to do. Wider tires typically translate to more stability while more narrow tires can help with speed (plus they lighten the overall weight of the bike, albeit marginally). The standard modern road bike wheel has an ISO diameter of 622 mm and is referred to as 700c (makes sense, right? /s). While the diameter for both 29″ and 700c wheels is the same at 622mm, rims made for mountain bikes are generally wider to accommodate wider tires. There’s often the name of the tire manufacturer (for example, Schwalbe). Plus, there should be the tire code. This will either be metric, imperial, or ISO/ETRTO. If we look at this in details we can see that 700 is the approximate (or nominal) diameter using millimeters of the bike tire. The number afterward, 32, is the approximate tire width (and again, the sizing for this is actually in millimeters). The last c is a historical bit of code that was used to denote the tire width in the French system (i.e. which would be the section of tire you can see if looking at the tire from either in front or behind your bicycle).

So 700x35c means 700c diameter wheel with a 35mm wide tire. “When the 29 inch MTB tire size was introduced a few years ago it had the same inner diameter of 622mm, known as 28” in Europe. What size in inches is a 700c inner tube? This is a great quality pair of tires from a well-respected manufacturer. They have a fantastic range and this tire is a very good example. Sealants are a better solution. Preparations such as Slime contain small rubber particles suspended a liquid that dries on exposure to air. It’s pretty effective at sealing holes up to about 3mm across. However, it’s hard to squeeze a sealant through a standard Presta valve so sealant makers offer tubes with the fluid already inside. If you want to roll your own, then you want tubes with removable valve cores. tires are approximately 700mm in diameter and 32mm in width. Translated to inches, you’re looking at roughly 27 ½ inches by 1 ¼ inch. However, these are considered nominal measurements, meaning they’re a close estimate rather than an exact number. If you’re going for a slightly narrower tire (but maintaining the diameter), you should be fine. Putting wider tires on can be more difficult, though, so it really depends on the bike’s geometry. Bicycle tubes sit inside the tyres. However, sometimes, they get damaged or punctured by the spokes. Thankfully, you can easily replace them with new tubes.
