Please just let the team know on the day that you have spectators with you. How long it had been there, Mak couldn’t tell – yet the animal stood silently regarding him with piercing blue eyes. Setting up his personality overall, it manages to capture the spirit of adventure for which he has become so famous for now over the intervening years that followed. Giving a unique perspective into his early days, it manages to draw out the sense of excitement that first brought Grylls into this unique and adrenaline fueled field of expertise.

Mak is an eleven year old boy who finds himself stranded in the Indian Jungle after a flash flood. I knew he’d be in for quite the ride: the jungle can be full of danger – in this case Mak encounters poisonous snakes, cunning monkeys and desperate poachers – and every step he takes could be his last. Climbing the northeast face of the summit of Everest, this book recounts his trip from the very beginning, as he goes out looking to get funding for his trip. It then proceeds to follow alongside him as he starts to traverse the legendary peak, all the way to the top, along with all his scrapes and mishaps on the way. Telling of the time he fell into a crevasse at nineteen thousand feet, it keeps the reader on the edge-of-their-seat throughout and, despite knowing the outcome still manages to keep them glued for the entire duration of the book. Will he get to the top? Can he survive this ordeal? What will become of the kid who climbed Everest?

We do ask that any spectators under the age of 16 are supervised by a non-participating adult throughout their time at the attraction. It was then in 2012 that Bear Grylls would release his autobiography recounting his whole life so far, which was titled ‘Mud, Sweat and Tears: The Autobiography’. This was then followed up with a number of survival guides that sought to inform his now numerous readers looking to potentially undertake pursuits and adventures of their own. Adventuring and writing to this day, Bear Grylls continues to put out his books for an ever eager audience, something which will continue for some time yet, as he shows no signs of stopping anytime soon.

He hadn’t heard the sound of any aircraft, but surely a search party must be under way. Perhaps they couldn’t fly in the storm? Yes, that must be it. They’d come tomorrow. He’d wake up and this nightmare would be over.
