About this deal

Whether it's a matte, cream or illuminating bronzer that brings you joy, a good formula should spark your natural warmth and add a little "zing" to your face and skin anytime of the year,' says Bobbi Brown artist, Amalie Russell. 'Making sure you get the right bronzer for your skin tone is so important: the wrong one can either make you look orange, ashy or like there’s no make-up on you. It’s all about getting the balance right here.' About the brand:Physicians Formula is widely known for its lineup of affordable makeup and skincare products, all screened by a team of scientists and doctors. The brand prides itself on selecting effective yet gentle ingredients for sensitive skin. The team believes that all skin deserves wellness and fully commits to delivering that promise. Butter Bronzer Gave - Byrdie Physicians Formula’s Murumuru Butter Bronzer Gave - Byrdie

Russell considers a cream bronzer the most modern option, as they give a natural, skin-like finish. ‘Feathering one on your forehead, cheeks, and the bridge of your nose with a blending brush will give a soft veil of healthy, skin-like glow,' she says. Here’s where it gets complicated: Despite bronzer’s ability to wake up your skin, so many formulas tend to be too orange, too ashy, too glittery, or just overall fake-looking. But once you know exactly what to look for, the ability to fake a glow and Bella Hadid–level cheekbones becomes far simpler. That’s where we come in. Best Bronzers 2023: Discover the Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Bronzer 11g, a ultra-luxurious bronzer, infused with Murumuru Butter, delivers a radiant Brazilian goddess glow! Features ultra-refined pearl and soft-focus pigments that smooth skin texture, brighten skin tone and deliver a gorgeous bronze finish. But while liquids, creams and oils (yes really – stay with me) are the best choice for skin glossing, a good old powder will always win in the longevity stakes. Today’s best are much more luminous than that tangerine compact we all carried around in the 00’s, and many come with dual tones to allow for some sneaky contouring, too. So many of us are unwavering in our opinion that we simply look better with a bit of a tan – especially now the last of that Mykonos glow has faded and the colder climes have arrived with a bang. But, as we all know, a real suntan is so 2014. The answer lies in a decent bronzer – and today, we’re spoilt for choice.

You don’t have to be a tan fanatic to appreciate the virtues of a good bronzer. The best bronzers elevate a sallow complexion while imparting a sun-kissed glow to the face, décolletage, arms, and even legs—and on all skin tones. At times when sunshine is difficult to come by, they are a lifesaver, and a speedy way to make skin look healthy with hardly any effort. One of the reasons people like this bronzer is the added bonus of the coconut scent, reminiscent of vacation. I don’t really care for the scent too much. I don’t dislike the smell of coconut and I think coconut itself in its many shapes and forms is delicious in food or even handy as a makeup remover, but this fragrance doesn’t quite cut it for me. It did initially remind me of the Kate Spade fragrance that smells like coconut, which I do enjoy a lot more. Once I applied the bronzer to my skin, it glided on effortlessly and blended easily. I was in awe of how well the shade worked on me, making me look like I just came from being out in the sun. When I added contour, it deepened the color, but I also tried it without and still loved the result. The color lasted for hours, and I was happy it didn't streak or look patchy, even after some time. Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Bronzer | FEELUNIQUE

This bronzer wears for a couple short hours and disappears. In my experience, bronzers don’t last long, but this bronzer seems to wear off very fast. As it wears, it doesn’t become splotchy; it just becomes lighter and lighter until it looks like it’s completely gone. I almost feel that because the bronzer is so soft and blendable, it doesn’t have much staying power. Again, I don’t wear foundation under my bronzer so you may find that the bronzer lasts longer with a base to adhere to. Fragrance Octyldodeyl Stearoyl Stearate, Astrocaryum Murumuru Seed Butter, Parfum, Astrocaryum Tucuma Seed Butter, Theobroma Grandiflorum Seed Butter, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Citric Acid, Glyceryl Oleate, Glyceryl Stearate, Lauroyl Lysine, Lecithin, Polybutene, Tin Oxide, Tocopherol, Aluminum Hydroxide, Caprylyl Glycol, Hexylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol. +/-: CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499, CI 15850, CI 77891. My favorite way of applying this bronzer on my cheeks is with none other than the applicator it comes with. The applicator gets a lot of hate, but the sponge makes chiseling out the hollows of my cheeks so easy and blends out the bronzer so smoothly. For bronzing up the rest of my face, I like using my usual bronzing brush, which is a tapered blush brush. What a good bronzer can also do is add definition. It can create cheekbones where perhaps there were none before, as well as enhance collarbones and the jawline in an instant. It’s all about adding light and shade, creating shapes, and acquiring a lit-from-within radiance that looks natural. Like you, but better. How do I find the best bronzer?I’m dedicating a whole section to fragrance because I think the smell is way too strong. And maybe part of the problem is that I apply too much bronzer- the color is light on me so I really build it up. I can smell this bronzer when I go in to apply it and I can smell it hours after I’ve applied it. Even when I think the smell has finally disappeared, once I turn my head, a waft of the artificial coconut scent enters my nostrils. I have no idea if my face smells to anyone else- I would hope my face is unscented, especially if I didn’t even use any fragrance. But with so many bronzers on the shelves, how do you know which one to choose? Select the wrong shade, and you might end up more terracotta than tanned. And when you’re trying to keep things natural, the wrong glitter ratio is sure to hamper your efforts. I’m sensitive to scents and I’ve tried airing out the bronzer on multiple occasions. Over time, the scent of the bronzer fills the entire room. It’s ridiculous how strongly scented this makeup product is. It’s potent enough to be sold as a perfume. Recommend? The Butter Bronzer in Light Bronzer is ideal for fairer skin tones. I think medium skin tones may get some use out of this if they want to add a subtle, natural warmth to their face.
