About this deal

This setting gave me a restrictive direct lung vape although a touch tighter than I usually prefer. MTL vaping is also possible but I personally found it too loose. It did have an effect on flavour performance.

I know what you’re thinking, and yes, that’s another Caliburn. And Uwell seems to be aware of the potential confusion, and they’ve taken good care to neatly divide the Caliburn pod vapes into two sub-lines (three if you count the KOKOs.) The G2 is the second Caliburn G, a line that takes its name from Great/Grand and caters to the more advanced pod users. Because of the heat generated during vaping, it’s normal for a bit of condensation to form around the base of the Caliburn pod. If you experience severe or frequent leaking, though, it’s likely that you’re doing something wrong. These enhancements are a clear nod to any restrictive direct lung vaper. You can also enjoy the benefits of two different airflows thanks to an innovative airflow design. Based on the orientation of the air inlets of the pod and the device. When the two are close together, you get a restricted DTL vaping experience. However, you get an MTL experience when there is less proximity between the two. First, take a coil out and drip 4-5 drops of juice inside it to prime it. Then line up the coil with the hole at the bottom of the pod. The bottom part of the coil is flat on its one side, so it will only fit in the pod when properly oriented. Then take the mouthpiece off the pod by pushing it to the side (it’s easier with the pod inside the battery). Finally, fill the pod by pushing the tip of your juice bottle inside the red filling gasket. Give the pod 5-10 minutes to saturate, press the fire button five times to turn the device on, and you’re good to go. When you use a Uwell Caliburn for the first time, you may notice that the indicator light changes color from green to blue. This is completely normal; the light changes color to let you know how much battery life remains.

Performance

Caliburn G’s power comes from a bigger 690mAh internal battery that provides you with a long-lasting vaping experience. Furthermore, its design has a 1.5A charging capacity, and the new Caliburn G now uses the USB Type-C standard. So what does it mean? Don’t expect much downtime if you have one. You can enjoy a full day of vaping on a single charge. It’s mainly on the conservative side with a wattage cap of 18 watts, but Caliburn G still does its intended job well by offering up superb flavour from your e-liquid. Fire Button and Auto-draw Vaping But while airflow preferences are subjective, there are areas where the Caliburn G objectively improved upon the original. The flavor is flat out impressive, and the vape is even warmer now. These were supposed to be the strong suits of the Caliburn, but I put it directly against the G and there’s no comparison, really. The new airflow also improves throat hit significantly, and I find 9 mg regular nicotine very satisfying on it. It’s also great with 20 mg salts, and I don’t feel the need to go higher—which is what I’ve been doing with most of the “Caliburn killers” I’ve tried the last couple of years.

I havent had any isssues with leaking, however my friend who also has one has had this occur, but he leaves his in the car and believes it could be down to the change in temperatures (leaks when it gets cold). As with any new version, there are plenty of exciting upgrades built-in to the G2 device, ranging from ergonomic airflow adjustment to improved battery and vibration technology. The generous 750mAh battery will see you through hours of uninterrupted vaping. Fancy adjusting the flavour and feel of your draw? Easily loosen or restrict your inhale in seconds by spinning the red wheel on the base of your G2 pod! Turn on the device by pressing the fire button five times and vape by either drawing on the mouthpiece or pressing the fire button. Note that some newer Caliburn pods have only one filling hole. In this case, you’ll see a red ring around the hole for easy identification. Side-Filling Pod At a glance, the Caliburn G looks very similar to its predecessor. But look closer and you’ll see that it’s not even a product of the exact same category. The original Caliburn was a prototypical pod system, while the G takes replaceable coils, making it a pod AIO from a technical standpoint. But those are all footnotes here. The question is, will the Caliburn G be the new golden standard for compact vapes? Keep reading to find out!

Cons

One of the things you may have noticed if you’re a Uwell Caliburn owner is that the pods have become very difficult to find in the United States. You may have even seen rumblings of a potential Uwell Caliburn pod shortage on Reddit discussion groups. There are two causes for the short supply of Caliburn pods in the US. It’s here that I can highlight some of those differences between the Caliburn G2 and its older sibling, the Caliburn G. Overall, The Uwell Caliburn G2 Pod Kit is a really solid little performer. Flavour and cloud production is awesome given the power limitations and the new G2 mesh coil is the star of the show.
