About this deal

We are wary of Argan Oil sold in clear or plastic bottles. Both can make the oil deteriorate, and most producers of quality Argan Oil wouldn’t put this liquid gold in anything other than a dark coloured glass bottle (amber or cobalt blue, for example). Aluminum or stainless steel can work well, too. Light breaks down the oil's best properties and keeping it inside something dark is the best way to store Argan Oil. Bogdan, C., et al. (2016). Preliminary study on the development of an antistretch marks water-in-oil cream: ultrasound assessment, texture analysis, and sensory analysis. Avoid oils with fillers and other nutrients : Some oil brands might come with a deodorized tag, which might make them easy to apply, but it means the concentration of the argan oil is low. Some are also so thin and maybe diluted – avoid these too. Authentic Argan Oil often has a tiny bit of sediment at the bottom of the bottle and it appears a bit "cloudy". The highly refined or fake oil will not have this sediment and will look very clear. Saadia Organics Argan Oil does have a few traces of sediment in some of our bottles. Don't be alarmed if you do spy a wee bit. Just let it settle and enjoy knowing that you have the real thing. Our oil is also cloudy and pale yellow in colour. We do not heat the oil at all, and it is run through a simple strainer, rather than put through a rigourous filtration system. In our opinion, the less the oil is messed with and manipulated, the better. When you see clear, bright yellow Argan Oil you know that heat and machines have been involved in the manufacturing process. We are born with only a certain amount of hair follicles, and can’t produce any more than what we are born with. That’s why it’s really important to take care of what we have!

Product Review: Cliganic Certified Organic Argan Oil

Most argan oil products come with a dropper applicator, so you can easily control how much product you’re going to use. So, argan oil comes from the kernel of the argan fruit that comes from the argan tree that grows only in Morocco. The tree is slow growingand getting the oil is a hard job. The traditional process is that the ripe argan fruits fallfrom the tree, then goats eat them up and poop out the seeds. The seedsare collected and smashed with a stone to get the kernels inside. This part is the hard one as the seeds have extremely hard shells. Once the kernels are obtained, the oil is pressed out from them (the kernels contain about 50% oil). Argan oil is also used to protect skin against sun damage andtreat acne, and its antioxidants can help reduce symptoms of inflammatory skin conditions such as rosacea, psoriasis, and dermatitis. Argan oil can be used as a moisturizer in the morning and at night; just be sure to let it fully absorb. When it comes to cosmetic oils and hype, argan oil is for sure leading the way. Dubbed as the " liquid gold of Morocco", we have to admit we have some trouble determining why this oil enjoys such a special miracle status. Not that it's not good, it is good, even greatbut reading the research about argan and a bunch of other plant oils we just do not see the big, unique differentiating factor (though that might be our fault not reading enough, obvs.) It also has rejuvenating properties for hair and nails. Many use argan oils as a hair treatment, particularly those with curly or fine hair. A few drops go a long way! Dr. Yadav explains that on its own, argan oil has hydrating properties that help strengthen the skin barrier and also has a high concentration of antioxidants and polyphenols, which can help protect against UVB-induced damage and photoaging. While plenty of pure formulas exist, she also recommends finding a formula that pairs argan oil with other ingredients that may be beneficial for your skin or hair type. If you are adding essential oils to your hair oiling practice, make sure to use very little. We recommend only 6 drops per 2 TBSP.

Whether you’re using argan oil on your skin, scalp, or hair, board-certified dermatologist Dr. Geeta Yadav recommends opting for a cold-pressed formula. “This means the raw material has been gently, mechanically extracted to ensure its quality and efficacy,” she says. Add another tsp of oil to the palm of your hand and rub your hands together, and then run both hands through your hair, making sure to coat as many hairs as possible.

It’s made with just one ingredient—you guessed it—organic Moroccan argan oil from the kernels of the argan tree. As you apply oil to each part gently massage your scalp in small circular motions using all your fingers. Tamanu Oil (Caulophyllum inophyllum) is native the Pacific Basin, and the tree grows on islands like Tahiti, Fiji, Samoa, Madagascar and even Hawaii. The native indigenous communities of these areas have a long ancient history of using Tamanu Oil to soothe and alleviate all sorts of ailments. Repeat this process until you feel you have applied oil to your entire scalp and have massaged it thoroughly.

An additional amazing property is how it can also soothe away pain and discomfort, and ease swelling and aches. However, as we age, our bodies stop producing as much sebum as we did when we were younger, and this can result in thinning and weaker hair. But our favorite way to use the oil is on our skin and on our hair to soften, nourish and increase shine and vibrancy. Here are a few of the Essential Fatty Acids that we can find in Organic Tamanu Oil, and how they benefit the skin: Linoleic Acids (Omega-6) are known to: Warming the oil before you massage into your scalp can boost the oil’s absorption and effectiveness. Treat your cuticle s: Argan oil nourishes the cuticles to prevent hangnails when you are doing manicure and pedicure. But what’s unique about the Tamanu nut is that when it’s freshly harvested, the inside kernel is dry and odorless. So it’s important that the nut is dried for a few months, during which it browns and starts to ooze a sweet smelling oil.
