The tent has several windows and the side ones have a metal piece inserted in them which means they roll up when you undo them which is a great feature. As we have the 6 person version we didn't use the tent extension (as there is a bedroom in the way of that tent opening). These extensions are very good and zip right onto the tent. You may want to get some windbreaks though to prevent wind and horizontal rain entering into the tent. I tested this tent in the windiest conditions (80mph winds + thunderstorms) and there wasn't a drop of water inside. The tent took a total battering all night long and was fine the next day. This is a very good quality tent. The picture below shows how this panel looks when you unzip it completely, as you realize it is completely rolled into a tube under the window. Now when you want to close the panel, you simply zip it on the sides, the integrated steel straps give very little resistance. Great design. The panel fully rolled up by itself.

Bought this tent as our first family tent with 2 young kids (1 and 3) after a lot of research. We had it for 2 years and used it about 6 times for long weekends at the beach. I loved it, solid, sturdy and very straightforward to put up. We never used the sleeping area divider, we were able to fit a double airbed, single airbed and a travel cot in. It didnt leave much room to move but what do you expect. Really liked the zip up windows, very tidy and practical. We got the Coleman carpet in the 2nd year, made a huge difference to the comfort levels in the tent.We definitely have problems putting it up and getting it to zip up once erected and are unsure why but hopefully the more we use it the easier it will be and hopefully we can work out what we are doing wrong but we don't believe it is a design fault, I'm pretty sure it is us. We bought this tent for two of us, opting for a 4 person tent so we could use one compartment as a bedroom, and the other for storage (and potentially a portable toilet if needed). One thing we felt was better on the Coleman tent, as opposed to other makes was that the bedroom compartments and separated by fabric that zips all the way round, turning them into two different spaces. Some tents we looked at just had a thin sheet of fabric clipped in with many gaps between the two rooms. All bedroom compartments have a fly screen as well. However, I would say this - the instructions are not clear on the tent about how to erect it, but it's such a basic setup you would struggle to find somebody unable to work it out. From the picture you see also its solid windows, you have them five in total. Note that some of them have a clever self-rolling design, this includes some sort of dual steel straps integrated into the zippered panels. They automatically roll together with the panels when you unzip them. No drafts, leaks or condensation problems. There is only 1 zip for electricity cables which could be a pain if your cable wont stretch to that side of the tent, there are air flaps on all 4 corners and a zipped area at the bottom which you can buy a fan to fit in to create extra air circulation. We decided we needed a smaller tent than our Mojave 5 that we could take away on short stays and decided to buy the Coleman Coastline 4 deluxe, we chose this tent in truth mainly on the price. The inner tent is well separated from the shell, there is a wide gap for air circulation, you can realize this from the floor plan below. Regarding the weight, in view of its 30 lb (13.5 kg), this is a heavy structure for a 4-person tent, but you have seen how much space and volume this tent offers. So the weight is justified, and you are not supposed to carry it long distances.

The bedrooms are arranged next to one another. The divider between the two areas can be unzipped. We find this useful if you need to comfort a young child in the night as you don't need to get out of one sleeping area and into another. New to camping we liked this tent because it is simple to pitch and large enough for the three of us (2 adults, 1 child).We have just returned from our 1st two nights away in the tent. Regarding seasons & climate, this tent is originally built for the EU market, so it comes with a huge waterproof rating and it is quite enclosed with its solid windows. This is why I see it better suited for a cooler climate than for warm-weather camping.

New self roll windows are a novelty but only downside is no fly screen in windows so cant open for ventilation. Small ventilation port at ground level for the cooling fan Coleman produces, without fan in situ very little air circulation. Only negative is the front door. There are two zips down each side but nothing to seal along the bottom. So it flapped around and let in draughts when we were inside. Had to put in pegs to secure it, not really ideal doing this from the inside.

If it took an hour to put up on your own, that's because this is a 4 man tent, so most likely it's made to be put up by two people at least. You can do it on your own but it's tough because of that reason. Even so, it's not as tough to put up on your own as some of the 2 man's I've had in the past.
